2012 Aussie Millions

There are now more ways than ever to qualify for the
prestigious 10th Anniversary Main Event.

The 2012 Aussie Millions promises to be the biggest and best event yet. Online satellites are live now on many of the world’s biggest sites, and for the first time ever you will be able to qualify your way into the Main Event at a host of Australian Poker Rooms and key APL/888PL venues. Below is an overview of satellite options, with all roads leading to the 2012 Aussie Millions Main Event!

Crown’s Aussie Millions Win Your Seat promotion is on now!

There are many ways to enter the $10,600 Main Event, including digging deep into your pocket and shelling out the full buy in amount. While that won’t be a stretch for all the high rollers out there, it may be beyond the means of most of us. However there are so many ways to qualify for the 2012 Aussie Millions that the dream of taking down a major event is still alive for those with even the smallest bankroll.

Direct Entry Events: These events are always popular as some people just like the idea of locking up an Aussie Millions Seat right here right now.

Ever the innovators the team at Crown Poker has announced a new event that’s sure to attract a big field. Branded the “Fast track” Satellite and running during the December Aussie Millions Warm up here’s how it works. Following on from the $50K guarantee format players can enter flights 1a and 1b on Friday the 16th Dec for $50 and receive 5000 Start Banks, a bonus addon is available at the first break where $50 will buy an additional 10000 in chips. On Saturday players can enter flights 2a and 2b where there $100 buy in will get them 10,000 in chips, a bonus addon is also available at the first break where $100 will buy an additional 20,000 in chips! Players who survive these flights return on Sunday for Day 2, combining any stacks if they have more than 1. Everyone still has a chance to score a seat in this event as you can buy in to day 2 directly for $400 and commence with a 60,000 starting Bank! There will be an Aussie Millions Main event seat awarded for every $10,600 in the prizepool.

The popular Rebuy tournaments are back on the calendar starting in December and running every Thursday night until the Championship gets under way in Mid January. These tournaments have a Buy in of $125 with $100 rebuys and if history is any guide fast and furious early action will generate around 5 main event seats per tournament.

If your game is not suited to the swings and roundabouts involved in a Rebuy tournament perhaps a Deepstack tournament would suit you better. There are two $550 Buy in Deepstack events scheduled in late December featuring a 10k start bank.

There is one more type of Aussie Millions Main Event direct entry satellite on the schedule and that is the Phase 3 Supershot Satellites. These will be familiar to anyone who has attempted to qualify for the Aussie Millions at Crown over the past few years, as they are the mainstay of the satellite program. Essentially they are a $1,150 buy in freezout where one out of every ten players wins a $10,600 Aussie Millions Main Event seat. Of course you can buy directly into these satellites for $1,150, in fact many people do, but the beauty of Crown’s Three Phase Satellite program is that you can Satellite into the Phase 3 Supershots as well.

There are two ways you can Satellite into the Phase 3 Supershots, the always popular $250 Phase 2 Satellites and the newly introduced Phase 3 Qualifiers. The Phase 3 Qualifiers are a mix of $135 1 in 10 qualifiers and $200 Deepstack qualifiers. The Phase 2 tournaments afford players a greater chance to qualify with one out of every five players winning their way through to the Phase 3’s.

So Phase 3 Supershots lead into the Aussie Millions Main Event, Phase 3 qualifiers and Phase 2’s lead into the Phase 3 Supershots, and usually just the Phase 1’s lead into the Phase 2’s. This is still correct but crown has upped the ante with this year’s satellite program and there are now three different ways to qualify for the Phase 2’s.

Of course there are the well-established Phase 1 Satellites. These have a $65 buy in and one out of every five players win a Phase 2 ticket they can use in any Phase 2 Satellite. Also this year there will be $25/$25 Rebuy Phase 2 qualifiers.

It’s obvious that the team at crown want to give everybody a chance to satellite into their premier event, as in addition to the Phase 1’s and $25/$25 Satellites they are also running Daily Free-to-Enter Phase 2 Qualifiers. These tournaments are at 10:10am Monday-Friday and are free to enter, that’s right free, with $25 rebuys, awarding Phase 2 tickets for every $250 in the Prizepool.

That means that from late November at Crown there will be up to five tournaments a day satelliting players either into the Phase 2 and Phase 3 tournaments, or directly into the Aussie Millions Main Event.
