Despite the enormous size of the Amazon Room and its approximately 200 tables, Allen Cunningham and his girlfriend Melissa Hayden are currently playing at adjacent tables within a few feet of one another. Being in such close proximity makes it extremely easy for them to keep an eye on each other's progress. For those of you unfamiliar with Hayden, her resume goes far beyond being Cunningham's girlfriend, she is an accomplished tournament player with over $800,000 in career earnings, and one of the top freelance photographers in poker.

Headphone Problems
During this year's WSOP we have heard of numerous situations where players' use of headphone's, especially the noise-cancelling ones, are causing problems.
Well a player on table 40 just found out how detrimental they can be.
In the big blind in seat one he saw a series of players limp, but missed the small blind, in seat 10, raise to 3,000. The dealer clearly announced the raise but the big blind could not hear him because of his headphones.
He moved all his chips in with A-10 and was called by the small blind who was holding queens.
He didn't improve, and after the hand admitted he didn't even know the small blind was in the hand. -

After a flop of
, T.J. Cloutier got his last 13,500 all in against a lone opponent. Cloutier had top pair, holding 
, but was in bad shape against the Q-Q of his opponent. Cloutier got no help from the turn card as it came

The VIP treatment
We stepped into the Party Poker VIP player lounge on the break to see what's up. Party Poker may not have sent as many players to the WSOP this year as they have done in the past, but they are going out of their way to make sure the players they have sent are enjoying their experience. ALL of their qualifiers have access to the lounge, which has a buffet of ice-cold drinks, hot food and sandwiches, as well as two luxury lounge areas where players can relax on breaks or on their days off. Oh, and while we were there it was a Scorsese-fest -- "Goodfellas" on one plasma screen, "Casino" on the other!

Carl Olson's Rockets Fire
Carl's impressive start to this tournament continues, he just picked up another 30,000 and moved to nearly 100,000.
We picked up the action on the turn of this pot and there was already over 20,000 in the pot with just the small blind and Carl involved.
The small blind bet 10,000 on the turn
