Day 1b Concluded

The tournament clock has struck 00:43:47, which signals the end of play for today. The players are bagging up their chips and getting prepared to head out for the night. A few stragglers have wandered over towards the Event #1 final table which is in progress, but most are heading out towards the doors, calling it a night.

Rajkumar Sent Packing

Despite flopping an ace, Vivek Rajkumar's {A-Spades}{2-Diamonds} was no match for his opponent's {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. Rajkumar goes out on the first hand after the break.

Play resumes. Play will cease 16 minutes and 13 seconds into this level so that the fields from Days 1a and 1b will both join each other at the same relative point in the tournament.

Players Are on a Break

Play will resume in 20 minutes.

Searching for Savage

Before the dinner break we reported that Chris "brsavage" Savage was amongst our chip leaders; however we've been unable to locate him since. We've combed the remaining field and have yet to register a positive ID. The search will continue, but for now, please note that his current chip count (70,500) is 99.9 percent incorrect.

We'll let you know one way or another once we find out if he's been eliminated, or if he's still hiding somewhere amongst the remaining 250 Day 1b players.

Action-Packed Table

"Moto" Mabuchi
"Moto" Mabuchi
Gabe Costner opens the pot under the gun, raising to 2,200. Action folds around to the player in the cutoff who makes a reraise to 6,000. The button folds, but the small blind calls all in for his last 1,925. "Moto" Mabuchi, sitting in the big blind, intensifies the action further, shoving all in with approximately 50,000 in his stack. Gabe Costner folds, but the cutoff player is not so quick to act.

He tanks for several minutes, trying to engage Mabuchi in conversation.

"Do you have a pair?" he asks.

Mabuchi flatly states, "Call and you'll see."

Eventually, the player folds, and the short-stacked small blind is the only one at risk, holding {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Mabuchi has him dominated with {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}.

The board runs {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Spades} to eliminate the player, and chip up Mabuchi close to 65,000.

Vos Flush with Chips

On a board of {3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, Mark Vos made a small bet of 2,200 that was called by his opponent. He fired again for 6,000 when the river fell {7-Spades}. His opponent called to see the bad news -- Vos made a ten-high diamond flush.

Vos is now up to almost 70,000 in chips.
