Following Fish

We were mentioning yesterday how the race for the 2012-13 WSOP Circuit Harrah's Resort Atlantic City Casino Champion was a tight one, since the first nine events had seen nine different winners with none of those players having cashed in any other event thus far. That meant a nine-way tie for first in the points race, with each of those champions having 50 points heading into the Main Event (Event #10).

Once we made the money today, just one of those players was still alive, Brandon Fish, winner of Event #2 ($365 NLHE). This cash therefore nudges Fish out in front in the Casino Champion race, and in fact he appears primed to do more than just pick up a few points as he continues as our chip leader as we begin the last level of Day 2. (There are still two more events in the mix, both of which complete tomorrow.)

Fish has just over 1 million chips at present, the first player to reach that milestone.
