I can't say for sure, but I'd imagine it has something to do with the fact that the $250k and the Main Event final table both need to be filmed on the same set, so they need to be on different days.

They haven't really said. Sounds like they'd like to get as close to 18 players as possible, though they said they might only play one level after the dinner break. Will let you know when we get a definitive answer.
