Dan Smith Eliminated in 3rd Place ($368,943)

Dan Smith - 3rd
Dan Smith - 3rd

A very disappointed Dan Smith has just bolted out of the Amazon Room after being eliminated in 3rd place. He came into the three way action, not only with the chip lead, but as one of the most in form players in world poker. This is how his cruel exit transpired.

Dan Smith raised to 250,000 on the button, Peter Vilandos three-bet to 720,000, Smith moved all-in for about 2,950,000 and Vilandos called.

Vilandos{A-Clubs} {10-Hearts}
Smith{A-Spades} {K-Spades}

It was Smith at risk of elimination, but he had Vilandos crushed. The flop was {8-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {3-Clubs} and Smith was still in a commanding lead. Then disaster and joy struck on the turn when the {10-Spades} sent Smith into despair and Vilandos into ecstasy. The {6-Diamonds} rounded things off and Smith had been beaten.

So Vilandos and Julius are heads up. Will Kyle Julius win his first ever World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet or will Vilandos take home his third?
