The "Italian Pirate" Walks the PlankMax Pescatori Eliminated in 10th Place ($135,000)
Upstairs at the feature table, Max "The Italian Pirate" Pescatori has just been eliminated from the tournament by local favorite Antonio Casale.
Pescatori opened the pot with a 56,000 pre-flop raise and Casale countered with a 135,000 re-raise. Max made the call and the flop came jack-high with three spades. Casale then open-shoved, putting Pescatori to a decision for all of his chips and Max made the call, tabling
for ace-high and a flush draw; Casale revealed 

Needing an ace, a queen, a spade or running straight cards to stay alive, Max watched as the board blanked out leaving him with ace-high and 10th place prize money ($135,000 AUD).
With the win, Casale improved to 2 million in chips. -

Erik Seidel has just proven to the poker community that experience counts. He has just made a great read on young Peter Ling and put his tournament life on the line.
With the flop reading

Seidel check-called a bet of 125,000. The turn brought the
and again Seidel checked with Ling leading out with a 325,000 bet. With only 508,000 behind, it left Seidel with a tournament life decision.
After tanking for a good 5 minutes Seidel pushed all of his last chips in holding
and Ling was pot committed to call for Seidel's last 183,000 reluctantly showing

Pros on the Short Stacks
Both Erik Seidel and Max Pescatori are at the moment very limited in chips. Seidel has 700,000 and Pescatori has 630,000. The big names of poker left in this tournament are going to have to work hard from here to win this thing.
