Maridu Finds a Hand
Maridu Mayrinck, who has been bonding with Chris Ferguson over the subject of the latter's girlfriend who, like Mayrinck, is Brazilian -- that same Maridu Mayrinck raised to 25,000 under the gun, and it folded around to that same Chris Ferguson in the big blind who tentatively made the call.
They saw a
flop and Ferguson checked it, and then swiftly folded to a 45,000 bet from Mayrinck, robbing us of any further entertainment. "My first big hand in ages," confessed Mayrinck. It's like Ferguson could tell. -

Lederer and Ferguson Tie for Most Casual Timing
In the closing seconds it was allowed (i.e. deep into the last break) two big names pushed it as close to not being allowed to play as they possibly could - Howard Lederer and Chris Ferguson. Maybe they overslept, maybe they had a bet on who could be the last entrant - whatever the reason they've only just started playing and are presumably three hours more well rested than their opponents.

Jesus Was (Small) Blind, Now Can See
It folded to Chris Ferguson in the small blind, who did the decent thing and shoved. Big blind Thor Drexel was not in the slightest bit interested, though, and Ferguson picked up the blinds.

Jesus Bleeding Chips
We didn't see the action, but a whole load of betting on the river of a
board led to a showdown.
Moore turned over
for two pair -- and whatever Ferguson was holding, it wasn't enough to beat Moore.
Current standings: Ferguson 47,000, Moore 85,000. -

Blind-on-Blind Bonanza
Richard Kellett and Chris Ferguson somehow got themselves involved in one of those great blind-on-blind confrontations that turns massive -- there was already 6,000 in the pot by the time they saw a
flop.
Kellett in the small blind bet out 4,000 and forced Ferguson into the tank. When he came out, though, he raised to 12,000, and now it was Kellett's turn to make a tough decision. Eventually he folded, and Ferguson boosted his stack to 41,000. Kellett is in no trouble at all, though -- he remains on a very comfortable 85,000 with the average stack at 35,800. -

LOL Straight-Over-Straightaments
The desperately short-stacked Adam Matusiak found himself all in against both Carsten Girst and Chris Ferguson and they made it all the way to the river of the
board before Ferguson pushed Girst off the pot with a 1,500 bet.
Proceeding to showdown with the the all-in Matusiak, Ferguson flipped
for a rivered straight -- but Matusiak turned over
for a higher straight and a triple up to a still frankly desperate 3,600.
"Well, he did have me dominated," noted an amused Ferguson. -

31 Is the Magic Number for Ferguson
Chris Ferguson is up to 31,000 after knocking out another short-ish stack. We only caught the very tail end of the hand, but it looks as though Ferguson's
stayed ahead of his opponent's inferior ace. Either way, Mr. Short Stack is out and Ferguson is back in the lead. -

No Oma-Help Needed for Ferguson
Chris Ferguson raised preflop and another fairly well-stacked gentleman in the big blind called.
Mr. Big Blind check-called 600 from Ferguson on the
flop, and checked again on the
turn. He didn't like the 1,600 bet Ferguson put in then, though, and passed swiftly.
An impassive Ferguson, turning back to an article entitled "Oma-Help Me!" in his magazine, raked in the pot.
Just moments later and a much bigger pot went his way. A gentleman moved in with
, but Ferguson had picked up pocket kings. The
failed to hit anything, and Ferguson moved on up to the environs of 27,000. -

Ferguson Extends Lead
We caught up with the action on the river of the
board to witness a very sizable pot in the middle of the table and Chris Ferguson sitting with a bet of 5,000 in front of him. A wall of various media and railer types crowded around the table while Ferguson's opponent, a young gentleman sporting a Smurf t-shirt and an white iPod earphones, squirmed unhappily in the big blind position.
Eventually Ferguson's opponent passed, and Ferguson is up to 19,000 without the bother of having to show his hand. -

Jesus Claims Another Soul
Wow, the big names are beginning to really amass all the big stacks here.
Chris Ferguson, already a fairly big stack, just now knocked out another player to propel him into the chip lead on 15,500.
The luckless soon-to-be-bustee moved in with
on a
flop, but Ferguson called him with just
. The turn brought the
and the river the
, and with no flushes for his opponent, Ferguson took the pot.
Tournament director Jack Effel arrived to take the seat card from the dealer. "Hold up," he said to the table, "I'll try to find you some more victims..."
