Kabbaj Doubles Through At-It Akenhead
James Akenhead, somehow back up to over 300,000, raised from the cutoff, only for John Kabbaj in the small blind, short after losing a huge pot to Sandor Demjan earlier, to move all in. Akenhead decided he was priced in and made the call.
Kabbaj:
Akenhead: forced to reveal that classic raising hand,
Board:
Kabbaj doubles back up to 160,000. Akenhead meanwhile dipped, but won another large pot just before the break -- he's back up to 420,000 and currently high-fiving fellow Hit Squadder Praz Bansi (600,000) at the rail. -

Kabbaj Too Cool
Arriving late today to the felt, Mr John Kabbaj.
He is here now, though. Shame, looked as though table neighbour Daniel Negreanu was rather enjoying dipping into his stack to pick out blinds and antes and the like. -

Kabbaj Doubles Through Fosco
Last hand before the break, John Kabbaj managed to double through (probably) hair cream enthusiast Michael Fosco. We're not sure when the chips went in, but the flop had a queen on it so we're guessing that's when.
Fosco:
and now down to 220,000

Noah Action for Boeken
On a

board, Kabbaj led for 5,500, only for Noah Boeken to make it 19,000. Kabbaj initially seemed tempted, but then released his hand. Boeken couldn't resist showing the table his

"Ah," he yelped frustratedly. "Should have just called." -

Kabbaj Wants To Be Jorgensen When He Grows Up
A couple of limpers try their 1,600 around to Theo Jorgensen's big blind. When it comes to him, he calmly raises the pot (+5,600). Now David Williams and Noah Boeken give him a spin...
The flop comes
and Jorgensen calmly pushes out one stack of 20 orange chips (20k). After short thinks, both his potential opponents pass, while John Kabbaj looks at him stacking the chips and shakes his head.
"You're wonderful.. [at the rest of the table] He just reraises, and it comes four-four-three. I reraise it and it comes king-queen-jack, two of a suit. [Back to Theo] When I grow up, I want to be like you." -

Kabbaj Teased
On a

flop, Theo Jorgensen (small blind) led for 8,000 and John Kabbaj (UTG) called. A
turn, and the Dane fired again, this time slightly less: 7,500. This time, however, Kabbaj made the fold, to which Jorgensen release a non too subtle whistle of relief. With no response the first time, Jorgensen repeated the act, to which Kabbaj simply glanced at him and nodded his head. -

147 Breaks £700k
The total number of entrants has risen to 147, upping the prizepool so far to a hefty £735,000. Two new tables have sprung up out of thin air in the corner of the upstairs area, featuring Julian Gardner, John Kabbaj, Tony Bloom, Peter Gould, Max Pescatori, Karl Mahrenholz, Jeff Lisandro and Jeppe Nielsen.
Not a great start for recent GUKPT winner Mahrenholz, who just paid off a river bet of a couple of thousand on a board of

Shish Kabbaj'ed
John Kabbaj became the first elimination of the day after tangling with chip leader Erik Cajelais moments ago.
(Omaha)
On a board showing

, Cajelais opened with a 9,000 bet. Kabbaj then raised to 36,000, Cajelais moved all in and Kabbaj made the call:
Kabbaj:

Cajelais:

The turn and river then filled out
,
giving both players straights, but Cajelais' just so happened to be the nuts.
Cajelais stacked up just under 150,000 in chips after the hand. -

Feeling Down
(Omaha)
With the board reading

, Men Nguyen bet 3,500, only for John Kabbaj to make it 13,500 one seat along. Another player across the table thought for ages before conceding his hand, and with Nguyen rapidly folding, Kabbaj took the pot. "I had middle set with a seven," confessed the other player.
Whilst Kabbaj jumps up to 30,000, Nguyen is still flying high with 40,000, although you wouldn't know to look at him, as he's resisting any contact with the other players via his iPod, and wearing a menacing frown that suggests life isn't as rosy as it could be. Must be listening to The Smiths.
