    Walbeck Doing Well

    Ville Wahlbeck has doubled to 109,000, all the chips going in on the flop.

    Wahlbeck: {4-Clubs} {4-Spades}
    Caller: {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}

    Board: {A-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {K-Hearts}

    Wahlbeck Doubles Again

    Ville Wahlbeck raised from the cut off and action folded around to the big blind who three bet. Wahlbeck reraised again and the big blind flat called.

    The flop came {8-Spades} {4-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} and after a check from the big blind, Wahlbeck moved all in. The big blind made the call.

    Big Blind: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}
    Wahlbeck: {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}

    The turn and river kept Wahlbeck's kings safe and he doubles up to 90,000.

    Wahlbeck Wheels One In

    Stud-8

    Kravchenko: (X-X) {a-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} (X)
    Wahlbeck: (X-X) {5-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} (X)

    Alex Kravchenko completed and Ville Wahlbeck made the call on third street, before Wahlbeck fired bets the whole way. Kravchenko called him down.

    Wahlbeck tabled {5-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} ({3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}) for the wheel, good for the high and the low, to scoop the pot. He's up to 195,000 with Kravchenko slipping to 210,000.

    Wahlbeck's Not Well

    Ville Wahlbeck stuck his last 9,000 in under the gun and Phil Tom reraised in mid position. Todd Brunson called in the big blind but folded when Tom bet the flop. On their backs.

    Wahlbeck: {K-?} {8-?}
    Tom: {A-?} {Q-?}

    Board: {A-?} {3-?} {10-?} {J-?} {2-?}
    No more final tables for Wahlbeck, at least not this time -- he is well and truly toast.

    Wahlbeck Doubles Up

    Ville Wahlbeck stays in after doubling up to 68,000 through Phil Tom.

    Wahlbeck got it in on the turn of a {9-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {K-Clubs} board, his {K-?} {J-?} by that point miles ahead of Tom's {Q-?} {9-?}. No re-binkage on the {8-Clubs} river and Wahlbeck won't be going home just yet.

    Ville, Von't He?

    Ville Wahlbeck, currently well in contention for Player of the Year, has put himself in a slightly better position to make another final table.

    Down to a below average 43,500 (average is at 77,000 now with 72 runners left), Wahlbeck reraised to a raise from Greg Mueller and they saw a flop. Mueller check-called all the way down the {A-Clubs} {7-Spades} {10-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} board and mucked when Wahlbeck showed him pocket tens for the flopped set.

    Wahlbeck is up to 60,000; Mueller meanwhile barely feels the loss, with his stack now resting at 160,000.

    Two Showdowns in a Row for Wahlbeck

    Nick Schulman opened his button to 75,000 again. Again Ville Wahlbeck called. Each player took one card, with Wahlbeck then once again leading out for 125,000. Schulman called but couldn't beat Wahlbeck's 10-8-7-4-3.

    Schulman Surges Ahead

    We've finally had our first sizable pot of heads-up play. Ville Wahlbeck opened the button to 60,000, then called after Nick Schulman re-raised to 200,000. Schulman rapped pat before Wahlbeck took one card.

    Once the draw was complete, Schulman led out for 260,000. Wahlbeck rubbed his forehead as he double-checked the card he received on the draw. He glanced up at Schulman briefly while absent-mindedly riffling his chips and trying to discern the correct action. After a minute he called. Showdown!

    Schulman: 9-7-5-4-3
    Wahlbeck: muck

    It's a huge setback for Wahlbeck, knocking back almost half of his stack.

    Another Hit for Sung

    The chips are becoming very evenly distributed around the table now. In fact, Steve Sung, chip leader moments ago, may now be in third place. Sitting in the big blind, he called a raise to 60,000 from Ville Wahlbeck. Both players drew one card.

    After the draw, Sung led out for 100,000. Wahlbeck called with 9-7-6-5-4 and took the pot away from Sung, who flashed J-10-x-x-x.

    Schulman Recovers

    It was a nine perfect for Nick Schulman that won a recent pot against Ville Wahlbeck. Wahlbeck opened the button to 45,000 and was called by Schulman in the small blind. Schulman drew one card; Wahlbeck took two. After the draw, Schulman led out for 80,000. Wahlbeck must have been suspicious; he called. But when Schulman showed down 9-5-4-3-2, Wahlbeck tossed his cards to the dealer.
