Fair result. The happy ending is that we all get paid our FTP money. If that was not the case I can imagine a lot more hate would be thrown at Bitar here.. I am happy to live in New Zealand where poker is legal and is also not taxed (treated the same as the lottery here)

We are all self interested beings (game theory 101) and there is no such thing as altruism. So when I see things like ‘Negreanu’s kind heart’.. It sounds more like a publicity stunt (as all non-anonymous donations from celebrities/businesses are). While one can argue that the it doesn't matter as the end result is that money goes to the kids..Was it Shakespeare who said ‘ there is nothing neither good nor bad but thinking makes it so’? Moral Relativism. Or maybe there are moral truths (the religious may argue) and as poker player I have just been in a state of apathy too long...

This interview was good due to the amount of content in it. Thanks Matt and Pokernews. I think the follow-up interviews with Lederer will give harder questions (I think he is going to have an interview on 2+2). So again this was good to get his side of the story and the best part is that this has/will trigger a lot of the related owners/players to speak up about this. Am looking forward to more fireworks.

Is he actually trying to come across as the hero of the company in all this?! He wanted players paid and it was the other owners that were resistant. Apologise for god’s sake. Admit and plead guilty to the charges in the indictment and hand over the $44 mil the DOJ have set out. He talks about moral duty to pay back players. When the morally correct thing would have been to be transparent 16 months ago and close down all real money games and deposits from probably April 7, when Ray apparently told HL of the backlog.

I wish Daniel Negreanu was the interviewer (no offence Matt) as it would have been a lot more brutal. I want to see some remorse, some emotion from HL. Ignorance is no excuse when Lederer is in the position he is. Even if he tries to shift the blame to Ray, the DOJ will still get HL because ignorance is no excuse for the law. I also highly doubt he is as ignorant as he says he is about the situation at FTP.

I hope that this is going to be as good as the Watergate interview by David Frost on Nixon!
