Poker Room Review: The Eldorado Casino, Reno, NV (2)
Played at the Eldorado on Sunday 2/22/12. Nice room, great looking and attentive cocktail waitresses. The afternoon game was pretty soft and profitable. Bonus paid for my quad 7s ($50). The Sunday night game was packed with wild playing "All In" locals giving each other the money they won from tourists over the weekend. Sat at a $1/$2 blind no limit table with several $600 to $1,000 pots within the course of 45 minutes! The Eldorado now allows buy-ins for whatever the largest stack on the table is (since CircusCircus closed its poker room). One aggressive old gent bought in for $600 after busting out twice with 2 separate stacks of $500! Despite the wildness, this was definitely NOT a soft game...and you could readily win or loose large amounts of money....fun to watch, but a challenge to play. The other two tables open on Sunday night were much softer with much smaller stacks and less experienced players. I had a great time playing there. Don't let the folks who love the Peppermill talk you out of playing the Eldorado (like they tried to convince me) it was a great room to play.
