Poker After Dark: $100,000 NLHE Cash Game Recap — Week 2 (6)

Please "stop" giving any attention to these Full Tilt Poker "infomercials" that according to reports, were paid for with the money that is owed to the site's players...who the site has been unable to repay "the money that they are owed" for more then two months now.
At the very least, if you are going to write about them, every story should begin or end with a reference to their scandalous behavior.

Quote "...And much like how the casinos weren’t keen on the M.I.T. kids who used their own mathematical aptitude to crack blackjack."
Sorry but I don't have much pity for the "casinos" that lost money to the MIT crew considering how the odds are so stacked against players to begin with.
And the MIT crew did what they did without violating any obvious casino rules...this case is quite different.

PokerNews Exclusive: Isildur1 Speaks About his $4 Million Loss to Brian Hastings (17)

It's interesting to note that there is "still" no retraction to be found by Gary Wise on the ESPN website regarding the merged hands issue.
The CardRunners crew has been saying they didn't have a merged database of all their hands...and that the sentence that created alot of this controversy was Wise's own words..not theirs. However, there is still no retraction.
There's a pretty clear section on the ESPN website regarding retractions. They call it "corrections".
This is the first two paragraphs from the section.
At ESPN, our reputation and credibility with viewers, readers and listeners are of paramount concern. While our goal is always to be accurate and fair, occasionally we will present an erroneous assertion of fact. Significant errors of fact will be corrected in a clear and timely manner, with appropriate prominence.
Correctable errors involve a significant factual mistake, or materially change the implication or connotation of the reporting. This policy is not intended to cover inconsequential factual errors, such as minor statistical mistakes, inadvertent and immaterial misidentifications, minor inaccuracies in a developing story or font errors that don't impair the viewers' understanding of a story.
Personally I would think this match-up where over four million dollars changed hands...would warrant such a correction to what the CR crew is saying is a bad quote/assertion/whatever you want to call it.
The fact that there has been no retraction/correction yet..makes me wonder if it did indeed happen in the first place.

PokerNews Exclusive: Isildur1 Speaks About his $4 Million Loss to Brian Hastings (17)

Journalists have protected their sources for years and years, this is nothing new.
Ever hear of "DeepThroat"? He was the whistle blower for Watergate....and no one except for the journalists involved knew his real identity (Mark Felt) until just before Felt passed away a few yrs ago.
I have no doubt that they actually talked to Isidur1. Parvis has a solid reputation.

If Hastings actions were "above board" he should not have a problem giving an interview or making a statement. The fact he won't comment...doesn't pass the smell test.
Although given that if he had just kept his mouth shut to begin with...this issue would never have been exposed.

Face The Ace: Can Poker Survive Primetime? (6)

I didn't like the show, and I think M.P is right in his assessment.
If I was a contestant..i'd be cutting and running the moment I made it to the first tier.
The pros certainly didn't bring their A game. Schirripa didn't bring anything extra to the show except to make the contestants feel less welcome.
This show simply isn't cut for prime time...i'd watch reruns of the WSOP, poker after dark, or WPT before I'd spend more time on this..
