Before someone lays down the money, how would they know Dwan or Antonius can talk about what they do in a coherent way? Ever watch their FT vids?

I read Holloway's blog and I disagree that the producers should have interfered. My question is: do you want to watch a TV show or a cash game? If you want to watch a TV show with exciting poker then someone can script every hand and every argument and you will be thoroughly entertained every week. I want to watch a real cash game, or something close to it. These hands play themselves, the all-in was inevitable. What they did is actually pretty normal. It's what Greenstein offered Dwan on HSP. It's part of the reality of being a pro player. I enjoyed the whole two weeks and hope they change nothing.

Tiltware Issues Statement Addressing Phil Ivey's Lawsuit (18)

"Mr. Ivey appears to have timed his lawsuit to thwart pending deals with several parties that would put money back in players’ pockets..."

BWAAAAAHHH-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!
Good one, Howard.

Ivey looks out for Ivey: expected. Tiltware/FT making BS excuses for never returning players bankrolls: standard. All trying to manipulate players perceptions to suit their agendas: inevitable.

No one will ever see a dime from Full Tilt, that money is gone. Smart and scummy big business has for years kept it's subdivisions as separate companies. That way when one goes bankrupt, the funds of the others companies are not at risk, even though it's really just one big enterprise. After the lawyers and accountants get done, we'll see the bankruptcy announcement around July 4th. They make UB look like a benevolent society. Start organizing the class action suit now. Oh, Howwwwwwarrrrrrrrd.....

I don't think it's going to be Chan in two matches. Everyone would like to see Wasika own Gold, but the Raymer/Williams match would offer the most interesting poker.

its why fulltilt will never be as good as pokerstars - too arrogant - flashing the wealth of high stakes pros in a recession is mind numbingly dumb....

FTs about making money for the owners and never caring about the players. Stars wants money, too, but the owners know they are nowhere without players. This is just a TV show, not a tournament, anyway. Effin' trophy looks like my ex's perfume bottle. Maybe a chess bishop with a swelled head. They couldn't find a poker symbol for a poker tournament? Rather watch Live at the Bike!

PokerNews Op-Ed: Are Celebrities Good for Poker? (2)

"They immediately see a familiar face that they can associate with and suddenly they become intrigued by what the person is doing. What game is this? How is it played? It looks like fun. Maybe I’ll try. "

CPS did have some players that know what they were doing and the commentary explained what bad players did wrong. Bring it back with a featured celebrity professional poker player who has some personality. Because this is right ...

"This introduction will, in turn, get new players into the game, which is always good for business and the poker economy. In conclusion, celebrities = new players = more publicity and money = a good thing."

I think it is time to have a poker reporter's association with an ethical standard and bonded members. This would allow WPT and EPT events to insist on and allow only bonded professional poker reporters on the tournament floor that have been trained to betray nothing while doing their jobs.

this would be good

PokerNews Op-Ed: Partouche Poker Tour Cheating Scandal and the Poker Media (6)

Only the poker "media" think they shouldn't be restrained. No one except the tournament officials should be allowed anywhere near a table where they can see hole cards. Wat they should all do is be in a booth with the security team looking at the over head video. If venues want more publicity they should figure out how to make the information available to "media" - or some poker wannabe who got a gig "reporting" - and still protect honesty of the game. Media kids around the table are a pain in the ass, anyway.

Battle of Phils: Ivey vs. Hellmuth (1)

Yeah, that wasn't biased or anything. Try that Hellmuth 41 FT to Ivey 22 and then tel us what games they were. Do the same for the Cashes 79/42. Hellmuth doesn't play poker anymore as far as the public can see except for tournaments. If he doesn't rededicate himself, like Juanda, he'll just fade into the BG - Ivey has busted his ass in the last couple years trying to overtake Hellmuth. Who knew PH bothered him so much?
