House Financial Services Committee Meeting on Internet Gambling Wednesday (1)

As I said in a recent article titled "High time to repeal the UIGEA" (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/5573854/high_time_to_repeal_the_uigea.html?cat=61) this very bad law is just the modern day form of prohibition. It didn't work when the "do gooders" tried to stop the country from drinking, and it sure as hell won't do them any good to try and stop us from playing poker!
Barney Franks is not my representative, but I do have relatives who live in his district. I have encouraged them to support him in any way they can.
My heartfelt thanks go out to the Honorable Mr. Franks for taking up our cause in the halls of congress. If you are a poker player who wants to help get this bad law repealed, you should join the PPA (Poker Players Alliance). It is our main (if not only) lobbying organization, and our one slim hope of getting back our right to play poker over the internet without government interference!
