PokerNews Interview: Catching Up with 1983 World Series of Poker Main Event Champ Tom McEvoy (2)
I think young people need to learn something about respect. If you ever played with Tom, you know he's an awesome guy. He helped many a small poker groups in seminars and club tournaments in various casinos around Vegas. It was a reason to go to these early camps, to try and bust out a champ. I played with Tom in an event run by long time poker instructor Al Spath and I'm happy I was able to be a part of it all. My game would not be what it was today if it were not for guys like Al and Tom.
Tom Speaks the truth in this article and I for one hope he makes the hall of fame. My guess is, he will in the next two years.
I'm not old, I'm not young, I'm 43 and I was lucky to be there in the early 90's watching the action from the rail. Tom was one of "the men" who stood out as one to watch. Players should be cool and give this man his due.
Thanks Tom for all the years of instruction and plain making tourneys fun.
Can I borrow your Corvette for a ride down the strip??

This is fantastic news and it's about all that Harry Reid is good for. We talk about all this often over on http://gopapoker.com if anyone wants to keep this topic going.
I'll post this article too if that is ok.
