If you're a poker lover and you've never been to Lithuania, now is the time to head on over to the capital, Vilnius.
From April 7th, The Grand Casino World in Vilnius is hosting the Tony G. Invitational event. A series of four tournaments running back to back over four days. This is your chance to party with Tony G. in Vilnius. A place where the nightlife is exciting and atmosphere is friendly. We recently had the chance to speak with Grand Casino World's Poker Manager, Evelina, about the upcoming events.
PN: Hello Evelina, thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to talk to Poker News. Grand Casino is hosting Poker Carnivals 2005 - The Tony G. Invitational in April, tell us more about that.
Evelina: There will be four seasonal tournaments held in Grand Casino World in 2005. First event is called "Tony G. invitational" and will be held on 7 th to 10 th of April. "Tony G. invitational" presents four tournaments:

Tournaments have no entry fees! We provide refreshments and free soft drinks for customers. Also tournament players will get big discounts in partners' hotels.
PN: The buy ins for the tournaments in are in Euros rather than Lithuanian Litas, is that to attract more players from other countries in Europe and around the world?
Evelina: With Poker Carnivals we hope to attract new foreign customers and for ease of use we set the buy-ins in Euro. However tournaments will be run in Litas.
PN: Will all your dealers speak or understand English?
Evelina: Yes, most of them speak English and Russian.
PN: Your poker room and casino are very spacious, much like a Las Vegas casino. Is that the image you intended to portray to your customers?
Evelina: Grand Casino World is the largest casino and entertainment centre in the heart of Vilnius. Centre offers lavish entertainment under one roof. An impressively looking three - storey glass palace invites you to its spacious Europa casino halls, the fine Japanese restaurant Tokyo, the sunny bar Hawaii and the stylish night-club New Orleans. The casino and entertainment centre occupies an area of 3000 sq m. Poker room was opened in June 2004. It is very nice 4 poker tables hall with lots of light and good air conditioning (although it is the biggest poker room in Lithuania).
For "Tony G. invitational" tournament I suggest to reserve a seat early to avoid disappointment.
PN: Many poker players will have never visited Vilnius before, are there any interesting sites they should look out for?
Evelina: Vilnius is a very beautiful city! I think players should firstly visit our charming Old Town - the most valuable historic and cultural heritage is concentrated here. In 1994 Vilnius Old Town was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list. It is a mixture of different styles: breathtaking Baroque and Gothic architecture was carefully restored to its former majesty. The main sights of the city are the Gediminas Castle and the Cathedral Square, symbols of the capital.
