BetOnSports Founder Kaplan Seeks Dismissal; BoS 'Tell-All' e-Book Publicized
The New York Post reports that Gary Kaplan, the founder of BetOnSports who was extradited to the U.S. to face racketeering charges, has now asked a federal judge to dismiss the indictment. In another BoS-themed tale, a purported company insider has now published an electronically available book entitled "The Rise and Fall of BetOnSports," with the unlikely author name of "Hacksaw Hemingway." The 134-page book's tease reads as follows: "An inside look at the online gaming industry with specific focus about BetOnSports.com through the eyes of a former executive consultant who shares details about sex, drugs, gambling, illicit activities, and good laughs. Read up on how the controlled madness of one of the original giants of the online gaming industry mixed in with a little bit of insanity and poor decisions led to the demise."
The Dream is Over
One of the most eligible bachelors on the poker scene is off the market, ladies. Gavin Smith reportedly got engaged to his girlfriend Cindy last week. Surprisingly, the blushing bride to be did not have to fight Muay Thai boxers, or get clam chowder dumped on her head to get the ring. One of the most gregarious and well liked pros on the Circuit, Smith and his fiancée have reportedly not yet set a date for the big event. There is also apparently no truth to the rumor that Joe Sebok was in the next booth feeding Smith lines as he proposed. Congrats to Gavin and Cindy.
