Event #54: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em

Event #54 is headed into an unscheduled Day 4. At the end of play on Day 3, two players remained — Will Jaffe and Luis Campelo. Jaffe holds two cashes so far in this WSOP, with his best finish being 32nd place in Event #14: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout. This will be Jaffe's third cash of the series and will be his biggest score. He will come into Day 4 with the chip lead — 5,390,000. Campelo will also notch his largest score on Wednesday. He goes into play with a stack of 4,275,000.

The battle for gold will kick off at 1400 PDT (2200 BST) and you can follow the action on PokerNews.com.

Will Peter Eastgate earn his 2nd bracelet?

Peter Eastgate secured his first cash at the WSOP since finishing 78th defending his Main Event title in 2009, but he has his eyes set on the bracelet. If he’s able to close it out, he will be the first Main Event winner to win another bracelet since Carlos Mortensen, who won the Main Event in 2001. He will Day 3 of Event #56 third in chips.

Can Donald Vogel Go Wire to Wire?

Donald Vogel came into Day 2 of Event #56 as the chip leader, but he didn’t get off to the best start. He was stuck in neutral for the first half of the day, but he caught fire again after the dinner break. Now, he sits atop everyone else for the second day in a row, holding just under 1.3 million in play. Can he close it out?

Can Sam Holden Redeem Himself From Last Year?

Last year, Sam Holden had the “unfortunate” distinction of being the first player eliminated from the 2011 November Nine. He is one of the shorter stacks going into Day 3 of Event #56 with 405,000, but he’s still in contention for his first bracelet. He will be looking to erase the bad memory of his ninth place finish last year, and replace it with the memory of his first gold bracelet.

Play will get under way at 1300 PDT (2100 BST). Follow all the action on the PokerNews Live Reporting pages.
