World's First Real-Money Tribal Online Casino Launches 0001

While the poker headlines have been dominated by the return of Full Tilt Poker to the poker market, another outlet has made its online debut on the GEObet Tribal Gambling NetworkNorthern Bear Casino. As of 9:00 a.m. (PST) on November 6, northernbearcasino.com became the first tribal website to offer online gambling.

“After almost 20 years of successful First Nations owned and operated Casinos in Saskatchewan, I decided to become an owner/operator because I believe First Nations need to ‘Occupy the Field” of online gambling,” said Bernard Shepherd, CEO of NorthernBearCasino.com. “I’ll be operating under the same Inherent, Treaty, Constitutional and Sovereign rights as when I opened the first Indian Casino in Canada on Feb. 26, 1993. Our Forefathers traded globally 100 plus years ago and Entrepreneurship has been in our DNA for 10,000 plus years, this is what November 6, 2012 is going to stand for.”

The Northern Bear Casino will operate its website as part of the GEObet Tribal Gambling Network with the Wapi-Maskwa iGamimg Act being the site's governing body. Other tribal gaming interests are expected to follow in their footsteps, which could lead to a shared player base.

“In addition to operating one of the finest online casinos in the market, GEObet Network's goal is to unite tribal gaming in the virtual world by offering a turnkey, live online casino to First Nations and Tribes in North America,” Gerry Gionet, CEO of GEObet Network said.

The site, which is licensed internationally in Curacao, Malta and Kahnawake, offers casino games, sports, and of course poker. "Our poker software is a huge hit with online poker fans, and is available for both PC Windows and Mac OSX," the site says. "All of your favorite games are available including Texas Holdem, Omaha, 7 Card Stud, Razz, Badugi and 5 Card Draw."
