The Online Railbird Report: “jama-dharma” Takes Blom for $786,971 in Limit Hold’em

Online Railbird Report

In last week’s edition of the Online Railbird Report we told you about Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond becoming the third player, along with Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius, to surpass $10 million in winnings on Full Tilt Poker. This week we focus on a back-and-forth battle between Viktor “Isildur1” Blom and Ben “Bttech86” Tollerene, and how the mysterious “jama-dharma” managed to finish as the week’s biggest winner with $667,544 in profit, which came from 1,724 hands over 16 sessions.

Other big winners on FTP this week included “Yoghii” (+$249,646 in 2 sessions/361 hands) and “kagome kagome” (+$235,544 in 20 sessions/1,454 hands), while “knez1985” (+$303,474 in 6 sessions/2,602 hands), “PimpyLimpy” (+$218,327 in 16 sessions/8,660 hands) and “Axelf82” (+$127,783 in 64 sessions/1,466 hands) all did well on PokerStars.

On the flip side, Ben “Sauce1234” Sulsky finished as the week’s biggest loser after dropping $426,249 in 1,296 hands over seven sessions while “MIKMIC888”, who lost $425,060 last week, was once again PokerStars’ biggest loser, having dropped $279,693 in 15 sessions/10,654 hands. Others who did not fare well were Patrik “FinddaGrind” Antonius (-$252,004 in 7 sessions/362 hands), Justin “ZeeJustin” Bonomo (-$182,592 in 20 sessions/4,321 hands) and Alexander “PostFlopAction” Kostritsyn (-$182,516 in 5 sessions/132 hands).

Blom and Tollerene Exchange Million-Dollar Wins

On Friday, May 24, Ben “Bttech86” Tollerene and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom fell into old habits as they duked it out at the $500/$1,000 CAP pot-limit Omaha tables. The two played for four hours untl Tollerene walked away a $517,000 winner. Unfortunately, he held on to that profit for less than 24 hours because the two were back at it the following day.

It started at the $200/$400 CAP PLO tables where Blom won back $95,000 in just 18 minutes. Fast forward five hours and the two fired up another game in which Tollerene was up $350,000 in just 15 minutes. It looked like Blom was destined for another bad day, but eventually the cards turned in his favor, and he finished up $470,000.

Given that the matches took place at the CAP PLO tables, there were plenty of $80,000 pots between the two matches. Here’s a look at two matches, both of which went to Blom.

Hand #1: This one occurred at the $500/$1,000 CAP tables on Friday when Tollerene ($77,494.50) opened for $3,000, Blom ($220,840) called and the flop came down 97Q. Blom check-called a bet of $3,000 and then checked the 2 turn. Tollerene kept the pressure on with a bet of $9,500, Blom called and the 5 completed the board on the river. Blom checked for a third time and then called when Tollerene capped the pot with a $24,500 bet. Tollerene rolled over KK109 for a pair of kings, but it was no good as Blom revealed the 10542 for a flush. Ship the $80,000 pot to the Swede.

Hand #2: Tollerene ($233,594) opened for $3,000 from the button, Blom ($40,546) called and the flop fell Q410. Blom check-called a bet of $3,000 and then checked for a second time when the 3 turned. Tollerene bet $9,500 and then called when Blom woke up with a check-raise to $34,000, which capped the pot at $80,000.

Blom: Q975

Both players had turned flush and straight draws, but the innocuous J on the river gave Blom the pot with a measly pair of queens.

“wilhasha” Books $146,300 Win in Sunday Action on PokerStars

We don’t get to write much about PokerStars action these days as Full Tilt Poker has seemingly recaptured the high-stakes cash game action, but on Sunday and interesting $200/$400 heads-up no-limit hold’em match took place between “wilhasha” and Ben “Ben86” Tollerene. The latter ended up losing $152,800 in that match, which helped propel “wilhasha” to a $146,300 win. That match also produced the two biggest pots of the day.

Hand #1: Tollerene ($52,392) opened for $800 on the button and then called when “wilhasha” ($136,285.69) three-bet to $2,800, bringing about a flop of 544. “Wilhasha” check-called a bet of $3,200, and then check-called one of $9,598.39 on the A turn. When the 6 completed the board on the river, “wilhasha” moved all in and Tollerene called off his remaining $36,993.59. “Wilhasha” turned over the A5 for two pair, but it was no good against the A4 full house of Tollerene, who was more than happy to pull in the $104,782 pot.

Hand #2:

Blom and Tollerene Continue to Battle

On Sunday, Ben “Bttech86” Tollerene and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom were back at the CAP PLO games, and this time it was the latter who walked away a winner. Combined with wins in other games, and Blom finished with $895,200 in profit.

The young Swede began by winning $80,000 from Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies at the $500/$1,000 CAP PLO tables and followed that up by taking $42,000 from Patrik “FinddaGrind” Antonius in fixed-limit Omaha Hi/Lo (FLO8). Blom and Antonius soon switched to 2-7 Triple Draw, along with “kagome kagome,” and the Swede won $126,700. After dropping $57,000 to “jama-dharma” (which seemed insignificant but would set the tone for an epic match later in the week), Blom found Tollerene waiting at the $500/$1,000 CAP PLO tables and promptly relieved him of nearly $700,000. The days win put Blom above Alexander “PostFlopAction” Kostritsyn on the yearly leaderboard with $4.2 million, but his stay at the top would be short lived.

That’s because on Monday, April 27, the two were back at it and Tollerene won back $451,700. Unsatisfied with that win, Tollerene returned the following day and won another $542,800 of which $350,000 came in just seven minutes! It was a nice rush for Tollerene, but of course, all good things come to an end and he lost $750,000 to Blom the following day.

Obviously, there were hundreds of $80,000 pots over the three days, but as far as Monday was concerned, the biggest pot came in a no-limit hold’em hand between Tollerene and “Denoking”, rumored to be “wilhasha” on PokerStars.

The blinds were $100/$200 when “Denoking” ($62,615.69) opened for $500 and then called when Tollerene ($111,117.94) three-bet to $2,000. After the flop came down 925, Tollerene checked and “Denoking” bet $1,850. Tollerene woke up with a check-raise to $6,932 and then led out for $14,000 on the 10 turn after “Denoking” had called. “Denoking” not only called that bet, but he called off his remaining $39,683.69 after Tollerene shoved the 6 river. Tollerene revealed the AJ for a missed flush, and “Denoking” rolled over the 83 to take down the $125,231 pot.

“jama-dharma” Destroys Blom for Nearly $800,000 in Limit Hold’em

Little is known about the mysterious player called “jama-dharma,” other than the fact that he is from Russia. Despite his unknown status, he made a name for himself on Tuesday as he played 822 hands of $2,000/$4,000 fixed-limit hold’em over two-and-a-half hours of and relieved Viktor "Isildur1" Blom of $786,971!

It was a hefty win, but unfortunately the hands weren’t overly special; it was, after all, a limit game. A couple of large pots took place on Full Tilt Poker, albeit at the $200/$400 no-limit hold’em tables between Ben “Bttech86” Tollerene and “Denoking”, who were continuing their match from the day before. The two played approximately 1,800 hands over five and a half hours and Tollerene actually won $308,100.

In the largest pot of the day, “Denoking” ($62,494.50) opened for $1,000 and then called when Tollerene ($156,970.54) three-bet to $3,600. The latter then fired out $4,752 on the 6JK flop, “Denoking” called and the 4 turned. “Denoking” called another bet, this time $13,363.20, and then called off his last $40,779.30 after Tollerene moved all in on the 3 river. Tollerene flipped up the 25 for a straight, but it was no good as “Denoking” rolled over the K2 for a flush. Ship the $124,989 pot.

In another notable hand, Tollerene ($54,070.94) opened for $800, “Denoking” ($48,398.50) three-bet to $3,200, and Tollerene called, leading to a 410K flop. “Denoking” bet $3,840, Tollerene called and the 9 turned. Again “Denoking” bet, this time $11,264, and again Tollerene called. When the 3 completed the board on the river, “Denoking” moved all in for $30,094.50 and Tollerene, who barely had him covered, made the call. “Denoking” showed the AQ, but he watched the $96,797 pot pushed to Tollerene, who won with the K9.
