PokerStars one-upped itself again on Sunday. The world's leading online poker site attempted to break its own Guinness World Record for the biggest ever online tournament in poker history, and accomplished just that when 225,000 players participated in a $1 tournament on Sunday afternoon. The buy-ins contributed $225,000 to the $300,000 guaranteed prize pool, with PokerStars putting up the other $75,000. When it was all over, Mr.SlavaPro from Russia turned his single buck into $25,000.
In addition to holding the largest online poker tournament ever, PokerStars ran its usual Sunday Majors schedule. Among the notables who collected big scores were Ole “wizowizo” Schemion, Andrew "Drewfus81" StJean, Alex "dynoalot" Difelice, and Bradley "BaZa88" Bower.
