Maryland Live! Announces Tournament Series with $1 Million Guaranteed 0001

The poker room at Maryland Live! Casino has been thriving since it opened last August, offering one of the largest and most player-friendly rooms on the East Coast. To continue its growth, the poker room will be hosting its first major tournament series this coming March.

On Monday, Maryland Live! announced the $1 Million Live! Poker Classic, a nine-tournament series that will take place from March 10-24, 2014. The two-week poker festival features a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million across the nine tournaments, including a $400,000 guaranteed, $3,500 buy-in Main Event from March 21-24.

The series will kick off with a four-day $550 buy-in opening event with a $225,000 guaranteed prize pool. Registration for the series will begin on Feb. 15, and because of the heavy traffic at the poker room thus far, Maryland Live! Casino Director of Poker Operations Mike Smith has warned players that registration might be sold out by Feb. 20.

"The poker room at Maryland Live! has enjoyed terrific success since opening last August," said Smith. "We have welcomed poker players from all over the country, both professional and amateur, who bring with them the demand for a poker tournament series of this caliber."
