partypoker Begins Signage and Advertising Campaign at New Jersey Sport Arenas
Earlier this month, the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers and NHL's New Jersey Devils entered a groundbreaking partnership with partypoker.com, one of the world's leading online poker rooms. The sponsorship includes radio and television advertisements and traditional advertisements at both the Prudential Center, where the Devils play, and the Wells Fargo Center, where the 76ers play.
"There is a much bigger opportunity to engage fans in the arena here," said bwin.party CEO NorbertTeufelberger. "European fans go to the stadium and watch the game, where [in the U.S.] things are much more interactive."
Last week, John George, Senior Reporter for the Philadelphia Business Journal, attended a Sixers game to scope out the traditional sponsorship components of the deal (i.e. arena signage and advertising).
“Before the game even started, and numerous time during the game, I saw the company’s logo on the main scoreboard that hangs above center court and on the LED signage that circles the arena’s inner bowl, above and below the suite level,” George wrote. “The sponsors on the scoreboard and LED signs constant changes during the game.”

New Jersey became the third state to legalize online gambling early last year, and the Garden State launched its Internet gambling market in November. partypoker teamed up with the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa to offer real-money games to gamblers located inside the state and the venture is currently the leader in the space.
The 76ers and Devils are the first major U.S. sports franchises to associate with the online gambling industry.
