Summer Slam Series Returns to Seneca Niagara July 25; PokerNews Providing Live Coverage
The annual Summer Slam series returns to Niagara Falls, NY later this month, and we're proud to announce that PokerNews will be providing live coverage of several events at the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel. The seven-event series will run from July 25 through August 3, highlighted by a $600 Main Event which features a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The Summer Slam begins on July 25 with a $200 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo Deepstack at 11 a.m. The PokerNews Live Reporting team will be providing coverage of that event, plus several more during the 10-day festival.
The flagship event on the schedule is the $600 Main Event running from August 1-3. Last year, Buffalo native Andy Spears took down the Summer Slam Main Event for $23,000. Spears is expected to be in attendance this year along with recent Western New York Poker Challenge champion Nick Walker and several other players from the Western New York region.
Brand new to the schedule this year is a $125 buy-in no-limit hold'em event with a $50,000 prize pool. The tournament will feature six separate starting flights across three days (July 28-30), and those who advance on Day 1 will return on July 31 to play down to a champion. Players may enter into more than one flight, and any player that finishes more than one flight will take their largest finishing stack forward to Day 2.
As always, PokerNews will be activating the MyStack App, allowing players to directly update their chip counts in the PokerNews blog using their iPhone or Android phone.
