PokerStars Offers In-Depth Look at Isle of Man Headquarters in New Video

“Poker is for everybody. It’s professionals, it’s brand new beginners, and it’s everybody in between.” — Lee Jones, Head of Poker Communications for PokerStars.

PokerStars, the world’s biggest online poker card room, has a global poker community of more than 63 million registered members. Since its launch in 2001, more than 110 billion hands have been dealt on PokerStars — more than any other site — but where did those hands come from?

Players only see the hands play out on a computer screen, but they have to originate somewhere. That would be at PokerStars Headquarters in the Isle of Man, and now the public is being offered a look behind the scenes as the company has opened up the doors in a new video.

Poker fans are offered a look at how their money is kept safe, security measure, and how the random number generator works. They also get to hear from some prominent employees on the future of the company including Head of Corporate Communications Eric Hollreiser; Head of Poker Communications Lee Jones; Director if IT Operations Gary Hill; Director of Game Integrity Stephen Winter; Director of Treasury Donna Crellin; Director of Compliance Matthew Robins; Director of Training and Development Beverley Williams; and Head of Corporate Giving Sue Hammett.

"PokerStars invests in its staff taking training and development very seriously," James Hartigan said in his narration of the video. "While PokerStars focuses on growing the business, looking outside is also a vital part of the company’s identity."

Here's a breakdown of what the video offers with pertinent timestamps:

  • 1:01: Data Security and our Random Number Generator
  • 1:58: Game Integrity and Segregated funds
  • 2:36: Compliance, Regulation and Gaming Licenses
  • 2:46: Anti Money Laundering
