PKR Poker Officially Releases the New 3.0 PKR Client 0001

During the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 14, PKR Poker players were asked to update their poker client to the brand new PKR 3.0, a revamped version of the room's poker software.

"Our aim with PKR 3.0 was to make this quite complicated piece of poker software easier to use," explained the poker room in a post about the launch of the new client. "There were two guiding principles in the making of 3.0: simplicity of use and improved game flow."

PKR 3.0 comes with a redesigned and easy-to-navigate lobby, a brand new My PKR section with all the most important info about a player's account, and an updated version of the room's famous Avatar shop where players can create the 3D avatars that characterize the poker room.

Yet, according to PKR, the most interesting updates were applied to what the players care about most: the action at the tables.

"We've eliminated a number of pauses between animations, stripped down certain sequences and optimized the logic behind others to ensure a smoother, uninterrupted game flow," PKR explained. "Each hand you play should feel quicker and slicker."

Released after a long time in development, PKR 3.0 combines the room's attitude to innovation with PKR's origins that go back to the video games world.

"While staying true to our video games heritage and social gaming values, we have introduced some of the functionality you may recognize from traditional poker rooms as the way hole cards and community cards are displayed," the room continued.

Defined by PKR head of PB Dan Grant as "the beginning of an exciting new chapter," the new 3.0 client of the poker room is part of the room's plans to consolidate its position in the poker industry and at the same time grow its players base.

Following the same plans, on Oct. 7 PKR announced its decision to leave Italy's 'dot-it' regulated market to focus its efforts and resources "on markets which can more efficiently drive our business forward."
