PokerStars and Full Tilt Get Full License to Operate in the UK 0001

PokerStars and Full Tilt have been officially approved by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) and are now fully entitled to offer their games in the UK.

Previously operating under a temporary license, the two poker rooms have been scrutinized by the authority and have passed all the checks in regards of financial stability, responsible gaming policies, corporate structure, and legality of their operations in other regulated markets.

Amaya's Head of Corporate Communications Eric Hollreiser welcomed the decision of the UKGC and said that the company is "very pleased to receive operating licenses in the UK, which is a large and growing market."

According to Hollreiser, now that Amaya is sure to have the opportunity to legally work in the UK, the group will continue to invest in order to consolidate the position of its existing poker brands and also increase its popularity in the casino and sports betting verticals.

"We continue to build upon PokerStars' leadership in poker in the UK and intend to leverage our scale and expertise to become market leaders in casino and sports betting," Hollreiser continued.

Hollreiser also added that the decision from the UKGC is a sign that shows Amaya's commitment to the highest standards in security and consumer protection and illustrates "the strength of our platform and regulatory approach."
