The Online Railbird Report: "bbvisbadforme," Danzer, and Haxton Drive Action

The Online Railbird Report

There have been some big stories involving online poker the past few weeks. Not long ago, Jason Somerville was named the latest member of Team PokerStars Pro, and recently Dutch grinder Martin "Quadchrazs" Ardon became the year's first Supernova Elite, a feat he accomplished in just 52 days. Meanwhile, Phil "Polarizing" Ivey is online poker's biggest loser in 2015, while Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies was the first player over a million in winnings.

It was a relatively slow week on both PokerStars and Full Tilt, as Ivey and Viktor "Isildur1" Blom — two players who fuel the games — were absent. But, that doesn’t mean there weren't some interesting storylines.

For instance, Sahamies lost a little this week to drop below that million mark (he's still the year's biggest winner with $979,514 in profit), while "bbvisbadforme" finished the as the week's biggest winner on Full Tilt with $467,349 in profit, which came from 1,021 hands spread across nine sessions. "Trueteller" also did well on the site by winning $103,927 in 180 hands over three sessions. Meanwhile, Chun Lei "SamRostan" Zhou was PokerStars' biggest winner with $132,873 in profit from 25 sessions/6,876 hands, and "R_1_C_H_1" (+$69,672 in 6 sessions/253 hands) and George Danzer (+$63,464 in 10 sessions/2,288 hands) followed him on the leaderboard.

On the flip side, Cort "thecortster" Kibler-Melby was the week's biggest loser after dropping $542,833 in 1,241 hands over nine sessions on Full Tilt. Other losers included Andrew "good2cu" Robl (-$104,396 in 21 sessions/1,941 hands) and "BenyamineX" (-$85,182 in 7 sessions/355 hands) on PokerStars, and "Follow The Hawk" (-$79,633 in 8 sessions/947 hands) on Full Tilt.

Good Day at PLO Tables for "BERRI SWEET"

On Thursday, Feb 27, "BERRI SWEET" finished as the day's biggest winner with $130,100 in profit on PokerStars. He was the only six-figure winner on the day, and it all came from 99 hands of $100/$200 pot-limit Omaha. One of those hands ended up being the biggest of the day.

It happened at a six-handed table when "kimokh" ($69,465.85) opened for $400 from the cutoff seat and "BERRI SWEET" ($73,090.64) three-bet to $900 from the button. Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky ($61,973.36) then four-bet to $3,540 from the small blind, "kimokh" got out of the way, and "BERRI SWEET" called to see a flop of 5J4.

Sulsky bet $5,619.65, "BERRI SWEET" called, and the both players checked the 9 turn. When the 7 completed the board on the river, Sulsky checked and "BERRI SWEET" bet $14,598.79. Sulsky woke up with an all-in check-raise to $52,813.71, and he no doubt regretted it as "BERRI SWEET" called with the 7756 for a rivered set. Sulsky could only muster a pair of tens with the 1010A6, and he watched the $124,786.72 pot pushed to "BERRI SWEET."

"bbvisbadforme" and Danzer Book Midweek Wins

The online action may have been slow over the weekend, but on Tuesday, March 3, "bbvisbadforme" strung together a six-figure win. He did it playing Kibler-Melby heads-up at the $2,000/$4,000 2-7 triple draw tables, which is where he played just 83 hands and won $152,936 in just 49 minutes. That averages out to a $1,842.60 win per hand! It was a nice follow-up win for "bbvisbadforme," who also won $89,000 off Kibler-Melby the day before. That was enough to make him Monday's biggest winner.

Meanwhile, reigning World Series of Poker Player of the Year George Danzer, who of course is a mixed-game aficionado, finished as PokerStars biggest winner on Tuesday — and the day's second-biggest overall winner. The German won $67,700 at the $400/$800 mixed-games tables, which is where he played for six hours against players like Elior "Crazy Elior" Sion, Alexander "joiso" Kostritsyn, and Cole "cts687" South, just to name a few.

"flong78" and Haxton Win in Wednesday Action

The Online Railbird Report: "bbvisbadforme," Danzer, and Haxton Drive Action 101
Ike Haxton

It wasn't the most exciting week at the high-stakes virtual felt, but on "Hump Day" there was enough action to keep the railbirds entertained. No one did better on Wednesday than "flong78," who finished as the day's biggest winner after winning $93,600 at the 8-game mixed and 2-7 triple draw tables. The vast majority of that — $73,800 to be exact — came off "kardioloq" in just 87 hands/40 minutes at the $400/$800 8-game table named "Jabbah II."

Another player who did well in Wednesday action was Isaac Haxton, who won $80,500 at the $100/$200 PLO tables on PokerStars. There weren't any huge pots, but that doesn't mean there weren't a few interesting ones. Check them out.

Hand #1: At a three-handed table. Haxton ($26,381) opened for $700 from the button and was met by a three-bet to $2,300 from Cole "cts687" South ($51,474.56) in the small blind. Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies ($23,280) folded from the big, Haxton popped it to $7,100, and South called to see a flop of Q510. South checked and then folded when Haxton fired out $14,395. Ship the $14,400 pot to Haxton.

Hand #2: Sahamies ($19,897.50) folded the button and "JayP-AA" ($12,793.87) raised to $600 from the small blind. Haxton ($9,495.15) called from the big blind and the two took a flop of 6Q4. Two checks brought about the 9 turn, and "JayP-AA" led out for $1,195. Haxton raised to $4,780, "JayP-AA" called, and the 6 completed the board on the river. "JayP-AA" checked and Haxton bet his last $4,115.15. It did the trick as "JayP-AA" folded and watched the $10,760 pot pushed to Haxton.

Hand #3:

Silverman, Cao & "R_1_C_H_1" Tussle on Thursday

On Thursday, March 5, Steven "Zugwat" Silverman finished as the day's biggest winner after profiting $91,400 on Full Tilt. According to HighStakesDB, he squared off against Rui Cao at the $500/$1,000 2-7 triple draw tables in the early morning hours and relieved the Frenchman of the aforementioned amount in three hours.

Not to be deterred, Cao jumped into a $1,000/$2,000 game with Cort "thecortster" Kibler-Melby, who he skinned for $118,000 in 233 hands over 90 minutes. Despite that win, Cao ended the day as a $33,000 loser after dropping a bit to "bbvisbadforme" and "Trueteller" later in the day.

Finally, "R_1_C_H_1" finished as PokerStars' biggest winner on Thursday after winning $64,600 from Cole "cts687" South playing heads-up $50/$100 PLO. Here's a look at three of his biggest pots.

Hand #1: "R_1_C_H_1" ($22,294.96) limped from the button and then called when South ($10,000) exercised his option with a raise to $300. The QK8 flop saw South lead out for $479.53, "R_1_C_H_1" call, and the 3 peel off on the turn. South bet again, this time $1,557.06, but again "R_1_C_H_1" called. The 5 river saw South fire out $1,433.11, and this time "R_1_C_H_1" pushed back with a raise to $8,970.51. South called off his last $6,230.30 with the K3106 for two pair, but it wasn't good enough to win the $20,000 pot as "R_1_C_H_1" had rivered a set with the 55Q2.

Hand #2: "R_1_C_H_1" ($38,862.07) opened for $300 on the button and then called when South ($10,271.53) three-bet to $900, which brought about a flop of 695. Both players checked and then South check-called a bet of $1,200 on the 8 turn. When the 7 completed the board on the river, South checked for a third time but still called when "R_1_C_H_1" moved all in for $4,198. "R_1_C_H_1" tabled the 10J79 for the nut straight, and he was pushed the $12,596 pot after South mucked his cards.
