partypoker Opens the $500K Guaranteed GPPT Online Leg To Dot-Com Customers

The partnership between partypoker and premier casino Dusk Till Dawn has primarily focused on the United Kingdom's poker market. One way it has done this is by creating the Grand Prix Poker Tour (GPPT), a series of $109 buy-in tournaments held at football (soccer) stadiums across the UK, each featuring $250,000 guaranteed prize pools.

On the schedule for the current season of the GPPT is an online leg held at partypoker. The original plans were to host a $250,000 guaranteed tournament online for players calling the UK and Ireland home, but changes have resulted in the tournament being opened up to partypoker's dot-com customer base and the guarantee boosted to $500,000.

Another major change is the inclusion of the multi-day function. Previously, players could only satellite into or buy in directly to the online leg. This time around, thanks to partypoker's developers releasing its multi-day function, players have the opportunity to play in several Day 1s, much like a major live event.

On Saturday, April 2, 2016, there are a total of nine Day 1s taking place every two hours, with an additional four scheduled on April 3. Survivors of the flights, which conclude at the end of 16th 12-minute level, then gather for Day 2 at 2 p.m. EDT (8 p.m. CET) on April 3 to play for the $500,000 guaranteed prize pool, or possibly more.

Players can also play in as many GPPT Online Leg Day 1s as they wish, but only their largest stack is taken through to Day 2.

Tom Water, Group Head of partypoker, said of the new format: "With Powerfest coming to a close we wanted to offer players another huge guaranteed online tournament. Our normal MTT schedule offers our biggest guarantees at peak European time, so we decided that we would like to offer all our online players around the world the chance to play in a huge online tournament. This online GPPT is structured with multi-time zone day 1’s so that everyone can get involved at a time that suits them. This is a unique concept for us to try and if it is supported we will look to build this into our monthly offering. The new multi-day tournament on partypoker is something we have been working on for a while so I am delighted to bring this new feature to the site."

"YTheSnaiL" Is Reigning Champion
