The New Jersey Online Poker Briefing: Michael Gagliano Has a Week to Remember

For a second straight week on Sunday we witnessed action picking up in the Garden State with most of the major online poker tournaments meeting their posted guarantees and exceeding last week's prize pools.

New Jersey's biggest single cash over the weekend belonged to "axn87", who won an impressive $10,532 after finishing on top of a three-way deal with "UFLOPITURN" (2nd - $9,538) and "LuieAnderson" (3rd - $8,544) in the PokerStars NJ Sunday Special, $50,000 Gtd.

However, BorgataPoker.com pro and Cardrunners instructor Michael Gagliano was the star of the weekend by appearing on three final tables on Sunday in tournaments with at least a $10,000 prize pool, including an outright victory under his "Gags30" screenname in the partypoker NJ/BorgataPoker.com $50,000 Guarantee for $10,200.

Three other notable players appeared on the final table in this tournament including Erick "BOBBY_DIGITAL" Patrick (2nd - $6,717), Joseph "megolaman1ac" Liberta (4th - $4,080), and Mario "Pwnasaurus" Silvestri (6th - $2,907), who in March won a cool $1 million in daily fantasy sports after winning the DraftKings Fantasy Basketball World Championship.

Gagliano's two other final tables came on the WSOP NJ/888poker NJ network where under the screenname "itWasThatOr0", where he took second place in the $10,000 GTD Weekly Sunday for $1,878 and ninth place in the $30,000 GTD Weekly Sunday for $566.

The online success for Gagliano was just icing on the cake for him, as earlier in the week he took third place in the 2016 Borgata Spring Poker Open $2,700 Championship for $128,768.

In other news, last week PokerStars NJ announced its 54-event schedule for the New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker featuring over $1 million in guaranteed prize pools from May 15-29.
