The Poker Hall of Fame Governing Council announced that Todd Brunson and Carlos Mortensen are 2016's inductees and will officially be inducted Oct. 26.

Ted Jackson-Spivack won the last-ever UKIPT Main Event in Birmingham for £35,000 against Ludovic Geilich, who lost the fourth hand of the heads-up battle on the with a king on the turn and four on the river to match Spivack’s hand.

Three years later and he’s back again victorious! Driton Haxhiaj won the 2016 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Luton Main Event, winning his second GUKPT trophy and securing a £61,250 payday. In 2013, he topped a field of 262 players to win the same tournament for £42,750.

This past weekend, Ole Schemon added the PokerStars Big $215 to his list of tournaments he's conquered, acquiring a sweet $27,888. The biggest score came from Finland’s “EVERFR0ST” in the Sunday Million, a result worth $142,424.83. This and more in your Sunday Briefing.

"Imperator3" won big this past weekend online in New Jersey, shipping the GSSS #2 - $75,000 GTD NLH for $14,033. The GSSS V runs Oct. 9-23 with 75 tournaments and over $1.1 million in guaranteed prize pools. But good thing you checked in, this week the first-ever NJCOOP kicks off with at least $1.2 million in prizes.

Brandon Steven walked away from the past weekend as the ARIA $50,000 Super High Roller 11 champion with $648,000. Not bad on its own, but Steven also nabbed the $25,000 ARIA High Roller 42 for $56,400. This was his largest cash to date.

Robert Hankins won his sixth WSOPC ring and came away the winner of the WSOPC Southern Indiana Main Event. Hankins won the $1,675 Main Event for $142,560 in a field of 432 players after jamming with an ace-jack against Hank Sitton’s king-jack.

In both the Americas and the Eurasia Conference of the GPL, this was a week for the downtrodden.
