Any advice for the beginning player?

Pokernews.com has many resources for the online poker player, from brand new to very experienced. Basically, if you are brand new to online poker, and especially if you are new to poker, two words of advice will save you a lot of heartache. Start slow. We know of one player two or three years ago who got the bug, and with 6 months of real poker experience, opened an online account, and jumped right into the $15/30 game. Within six weeks, he had burned through five grand, and hasn't played poker since. Poker is such a grand game, but must be used with caution. Patience wins, speed kills.
