My computer slows down when I play online poker - what should I do?

First, be sure before you start on a site that your system is set up to handle whatever the site's requirements are.

Next, assuming you have the proper set-up for the site, if you experience lag or a slow-down of your system, be sure to simply shut down other programs that you're running that may be draining your resources.

If you're running a bunch of programs and/or a DVD while playing online, that may tap into your computer's power and cause things to slow-down too much. So shut down what you don't need.
