technologies used in leading online poker games?

Hi - I am doing a report on online poker sites. Does anyone out there know answers to any of the following? Thanks in advance:

What technologies are the leading online poker games written in? Most are downloadable executables but what is that client application written in? What technologies are used on the other layers of the architecture such as the server database, broadcasting technologies and middle tier business layer?
