I hate everest. I switched, as being a student, the low minimum $5 deposit, and low limit entry tables seemed appealing. BUT Ive never lost so many games in my life. Theres so many absolutely terrible players on there its unreal. Youd think that would be a good thing...but in no limit holdem its a nightmare.

Ill give you an example. Pocket fish-hooks. I make a pot sized bet. (6 handed, no previous raises). THREE OF THEM CALL. Flop comes out 4 6 J. I hit trips, bet 50% of the pot. Everyone folds bar one who re-raises. I'm thinking theyve got lower trips. I re-raise...they go all in. I'm thinking...what? so I call. they turn over 7 5 and hit a straight on the last card. Maybe I should have seen that....but how? who the hell re-raises all in on a draw so early in a game? who the hell calls a pot sized bet, about 1/5 of the stack with 7 5 off suit?????

Another time, big blind with pocket 4s. flop 882. only one other player. they make a small bet, I call. next card is a 4. Ive hit a full house 4s over 8s. The other player pushes all in.
I put them on trips with decent kicker, I say what the hell...I call. they turn over 4 8!!!!!
who the fuck calls 4 8 under the gun?????

Ive switched to fixed limit on there now, but its still a tough game when so many players are seeing the flop 100% of the time, call re-raises with rags etc etc.

The low deposit is a false economy. As soon as this poor student gets up to $15, I'm switching back to pokerstars. The best site by far.....not in terms of bonuses (which arent great, its a shame FPP cant be converted into cash like on pacifics system) but in terms of player skill. At least then you can at least read them. How the hell can you read a player who makes so many unforced errors? I hate getting sucked out on everest... I dont recommend it to beginners either as youll end up picking up bad habits too.

everyone gets sucked out some times. That's where the money is made, who would make money if the fish never hit their hands.

Tried to download it via pokernews and everest.com but none of them worked...

I was unable to save it to my computer. Now I tried it on a different machine without anitvirus and witout a descent firewall and had no problem.

Then I send the installer to my computer, where it said that it contains some malware & stuff...

Don't really get it why the developers put in such things...

there is no malware in any of the poker software. the messages you get are because the software includes some files to track your registration. you can only have one account in one pc. some of the instalation files try to access some of your pc's *.dll files to track that registration to your pc, and then the antivirus shouts that this is a virus... thats it..

I cant guarantee you if you will be able to participate, because on most of poker rooms you have to deposit at least 24 hours before tournament. But you may try. here is about this tournament:
To be eligible, players must download Everest Poker through PokerNews, register a new account and make a deposit. Players must then enter the bonus code pnewscup7 after September 6 which will automatically register them into the freeroll. Players must ensure the tournament is available in the lobby before they enter the tournament code. Existing Everest Poker players who have signed up through PokerNews and made a deposit are also eligible to play.
