Why wouldn't online poker rooms just keep everything on the square and allow the skill prevail?
For some reasons a billion dollars a year isn't enough. It's sort of predatary to allow bad players to have a false sense of reality when it comes to playing poker. What happens is, these players get in there, mix it up a little, put a few tremendous beats on people, then they end up having some sort of false hope that they are great players.
I have a frend who every week puts a couple hundred on the game. He invariably runs it up Friday night, Saturday he plays a little because he's come up with a 'new' strategy of how he can play for a living online, and by Sunday when he planned to call off work, he's broke again. What's even more irritating, I have to listen to his bad beat stories. Wake up dude!
I'm not saying don't play online poker, I'm just saying change your expectations. I have made a few bucks online since the days of when Paradise Poker was the only site out there, however, I no longer believe that it is my way to make a living. Have fun, pick off a tournament or two, play in cash games with the expectations of getting in hands and not playing above your bankroll. Online poker is great for the obvious reasons, but your expectations must change and you cannot believe that what is supposed to be a random
