Across the United States and around the world, poker seems to be the game of choice. But as more play the game, the more notice that law enforcement gives to the game as well.
If playing poker leads to crime, then the world better be prepared for one crazy century. Hundreds of thousands of people are playing poker in their own bedrooms and NOBODY CAN STOP THEM. So hide the money in the mattress because soon the poker junkies are coming for YOUR stash too...
im thinking of having a home game and taking a pot rake. What fines and charges should i expect if the police get involved??? Is it a felony offence. do you think I will face jail time??? resond and joshuahdell@aol.com
You might be treading on dangerous ground, taking a pot rake. That is what gets most home games in trouble. After saying that, however, it might depend on where you are and how much you are taking. That is one of the problems with gaming laws in the U. S., is that they are not consistent from state to state or even town to town. The punishments vary as well, so there is no concrete answer.
