What this article failed to point out is that 99.9% of men DO NOT want woman at the poker table. Men are trying to get away from their girlfriends for a while and just want to play. Woman have 'girls night out' so let men have 'guys night out'. Woman laugh and play very slow and 'are being nice'. Guys hate this. When i am at a table and hear screaming, someone always says 'this is why woman should not be allowed at the poker table'. Sure a guy likes a hot chick anywhere, but anyone wanting to make money avoids tables with woman. Woman call, call, and call. They play every hand. They buy in for small amounts. When you are at a LIMIT game with more than 2 woman, you can not win. The money goes back and forth and eventually the rake gets you. Sure they always loose money, but you won't make any either.

Men play games/sports/video games to 1) win, 2) accumulate the most points, 3) compete, 4) be the most violent, or whatever. Woman play games/sports to socialize. This is a well known psychology fact that starts at diapers and continues through out life. When toy and video game companies design games, the games for girls are different. They are social interaction games where you don't really win. They just play games like 'the sims'. The games for boys are designed to compete for the most points like 'halo'.

If i see a 'woman's only' tournement, i will sign up. It is illegal and should stay that way.

Sorry, but I have to ask the question. Are you afraid of losing to a woman?? I play to make money and I've found that at times, women are a very good source of income. If they're playing every hand, it doesn't matter if they're male or female. Just wait on the correct hand to make your move and take the money. Whatever the sex, same plan.

As for the women only tourneys, I think they're a great idea. Like the article says, it's the only way to initiate some of these players into tournament poker. Once in, they'll move over to the open events.

No matter what sex new players are, they're good for poker. More players=more money in the game.
