Does anybody have any creative methods for depositing online? My credit cards won't allow online deposits.

If you want to use your credit card, I would suggest signing up for an account at epassporte. You can use your credit card or bank account to fund your epassporte account. I love the fact that they have their own debit card where u can withdraw your money via any atm. If for some reason your crdit card company rejects that, then you can can buy one of those visa gift cards and fund your epassporte account with one of those. However, I dont think banks and credit cards can block epassporte since they arent actually a gaming transaction. I have full confidence in epassporte because they have now changed the rules so that you can only use your epassporte funds for poker transactions and not casino or sportsbook. They are taking the stance that poker is a skill game, therefore they arent violating any usa laws.

PokerStars has come with E-checks for US players. These are working great. No fees and comes straight out of your bank account just like a check.

It depends on where you are located. Of course for US, it's dead. For other locations, I'm not sure. Some of the European players may be able to give you some advise.

After being away for a couple of years due to the US policies, I have started playing online again at Carbon Poker, which I am not real impressed with. I noticed that PokerStars is taking US players, but the only option I see available that isn't declined (I assume - haven't actually tried it yet) is eChecks. However, they ask for my SSN which is the first time any of these sites have asked for that, and it makes me a little nervous about identity theft. Does anyone know why they need that, and is it anything I should be concerned about? I prefer PokerStars, so I hope it is not an issue!
Thanks!

It's really not an issue. They are actually protecting you from somebody else finding a check of yours and using your checking account to fund their poker. I've used eCheck on PokerStars and FullTilt with absolutely no problems.
Good luck to you and welcome to PokerNews.
