The beginning of 2008 should be interesting for me.
January 3-22 is the WSOP Circuit Event at the Grand Casino in Tunica Mississippi
January 20-23 is the World Poker Open (WPT) at the Gold Strike in Tunica.
January 23-25 is the Delta Poker Classic at the Gold Strike in Tunica.
February 18-27 is the WSOP Circuit Event at the Horseshoe Casino in Tunica.
With trying to freeroll into the Aussie Millions and the South African PokerNews Open, there's a lot of potential in those 2 months.
Now it's tough to decide which events to try to play.
If you're in the US and never played Tunica, you ought to come down and try some Southern hospitality. It's just south of Memphis.

Just another KITNs. You'll get used to them.

You are playing in all of those Davega?
I wish. Like I said, it's going to be tough deciding which events to play. They're all good tourneys so we'll just have to see which ones match my schedule.
It's a lot better than having no tourneys to choose from. Now it's too many.
I'll post again when I decide.

Let the games begin. I'll be heading over to Tunica this afternoon. Event 1 of the WSOP Circuit event is tomorrow. Event 1 of the WPT events is Friday. Then it's either event 3 WSOP or Event 2 of WPT on Saturday. Hopefully I won't get to play in all of these. Final tables are played the next day so if you make it, you won't be able to play in the next day's event. I'll let everyone know how I come out. Got a radar detector for Christmas so I'll see how much I can shorten the 6 hour drive down to.

Played in Event 1 of the WSOP Circuit Event. Level 8 was 600/1200 blinds with 100 ante so 2800 per lap. I'm sitting on 14 k in chips so I have a M of 5. This is red zone poker. I had played pretty tight for the last couple of hours. I'm dealt JJ. Table folds around to me. I hate JJ. There's no sure fire way to play them. So I decide to push and just take the blinds. BB wakes up with AK and calls. Flops him a king and I'm done.
Played in Event 1 of the WPT Event. Played a much better tournament. I was a short stacked with 78 players left and tourney paying 72. I took this to my advantage. Whenever the blinds were on mid-short stacks, if it was folded to me and I had ANY kind of decent hand, I pushed. I stole blinds twice and doubled up once coasting to the money. I wasn't playing to get 72nd. Down to 55 and I'm in the SB. Folded around to me. I look down and see A9o. Not a great hand but better than average. I decide to push the BB off his blind. He calls with 66 and they hold up. So 55th it is for me. Not a good payday but better than nothing.
These tournaments go on for another 2 weeks. I'll have to see if I can get back over for some additional play.
