Well!...After my second consecutive month in a tie for first, (lost in the tiebreaker last month) I took a look at the tiebreaker rule at Duplicate and discovered that, in fact, we both won!! Both of us had won the same number of matches...see tiebreaker info from site.
70) How is a tie for the Round Robin (RR) sessions resolved?
Prizes are awarded on the basis of point totals from the five mini-matches. Awarding the higher place to the player who has won the greater number of mini-matches will break a tie. (There are no further tie breaks used)
Will someone from Poker news please verify and let us know how to procede?
Thanks!!!

A tie will be broken by awarding the higher place to the player who has won the greater number of mini-matches.http://www.duplicatepoker.com/epokerusa.aspx?page=dpg_rules#FSRR
I'm not sure if this would have changed the outcome. Have you contacted Duplicate with this question?

I was the other player who tied for 1st in this tournament and i think you must of won sheepodog.... have you heard anything from them?

OK...I had emailed em and asked for clarification of tiebreaker and asked who won. sent back info as i posted previously. Said I had lost...So I called em. Had em look at the results and wanted to know who won, and how it was determined. So, he looked. Verified that I did not win. I said, "Who won?" He looked at u phil, and said u didn't win either, lmfao!!...So I got a little testy, and wanted to know who DID win!!...He didn't know...sigh...So, as it stands now, he sent an email to some honcho in the "let's see how we can f*ck with these guys" department, for them to sort it out. That was this morning, and as yet, no reply. I'll keep you posted as soon as I hear from them again...If nothing by noon tomorrow, I'll give em another call.
But, Duplicate Poker, having a format such as this, a tie should have been an anticipated outcome, with provisions made and posted. I'd be happy with splitting the prize, and use it to enter lower tier WSOP events. (Of course I'd still need full $2500 for travel and expenses, seeing as that would remain as costly)
What does everyone else think?...Both of us full package instead? hehehe We did, after all meet the eligibility requirements in good faith, and played according to the rules as prescribed. We both won. We should both be rightfully compensated.

Keep us posted, both of you. I personally think that they should award both of you the package (but that's just my opinion and doesn't reflect or represent the opinion or views of PokerNews or any of its affiliates) I had to throw in the disclaimer.

You probably need to ask about the previous tourney too then.

no...the previous trny was correct. The only tiebreaker involved is simply the minnie matches. If a player wins more minnies than whomever he's tied with, he wins. Last trny when I tied for first, he had 3, 2 pointers to my 2, 2 pointers. This trny however we both tied in that repect, hence the problem....and while ima on the subject of the Duplicate trnys, those freakin' sitouts should not be allowed to advance to the round of six. 2 WSOP trnys in a row, the sitout/no show was involved in determining everyones final position again. Cost me 2 points, and I know phil lost a point to the sitout in final round. (Yea, I admit it...I was watchin' and rootin' fer the no show by that time!! lmao!!)

OK...no seat, but I just recieved a deposit of $6250 in my account at Duplicate. So I called them again, and they informed me that they converted the value to cash and awarded the split to both of us...said an email explaination with be coming soon....dammit I wanted into the main event! I'll piss away the cash!! But at any rate Congrats philnc!!!...WWWOOOFFFF!!!

A lot of the sites are doing it this way, putting the money in your account rather than buying the ticket for you since the UIGEA. At least you got a split. You can play in a earlier WSOP event, have traveling money, AND satellite your way in to the Main Event. In the past, they ran satellites daily. AND, you can just win the next freeroll out right and be really set for the Main Event.
Congrats to both of you.

Yeah thanks guys... i would of liked to go to vegas but all in all im pretty happy with the outcome. We may still make it yet sheepodog... good luck.
no hard feelings about rootin for the no show, i was doin the same thing when he was up against you. I knew in the last mini match i just had to beat the no show (to score 1 point) so i tried stealin one hand so i could fold the rest... chose the wrong hand though i guess.
