Even though I still believe that accounts are ranked, my suspicions are that most sites are using the same software with customized skins. There may be a few tweeks here and there for different things, but it wouldn't surprise me that they all buy license from the same one or two software developers for the core program. The best place to play is the one you feel most comfortable with. Before making a deposit, play some freerolls, look around, check out the settings options and support network. Bad beats are going to happen. Cold decks and dry spells will also occur no matter where you play.

Oh yea, don't forget the chocolate cake.

OP, I think all of the mainstream sites are dealing from a random deck (I have no time for conspiracy theories - it would not be in a sites long term interest to "fix" the deal).

The big sites are big for a reason. Deposit at Stars or Tilt (or Party becuase you look like you might be an Aussie) and go from there.

You are are asking about algorhythms and such - I can't help but wonder if you are looking to make excuses for previous losses?

We all have terrible bad beat stories I know, ive seen so many action flops, runner runner etc on a regualr basis at Fulltilt, it just doesnt seem natural. I now play a bit on pokerstars, i was wondering what other sites people prefer and why? Do they play there because the deck seems more realistic?

It's not a theory, it's a fact - internet poker is rigged/juiced/etc-whatnot. I was also thinking like you when I started to play online few years ago. Constantly migrating from one site to another and asking on forums in search for a fair poker room. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but there is no such thing ... yet

But regardless to this, you can still be a winning player. You just have to adapt. First of all, find the site where you feel comfortable when you play. Then sign up a nice bonus or rakeback deal. Then, play a lot - sites award players who play a lot and produce them massive money from rake - believe me ! Multitable if you can. Also search for patterns/traps in game - and try to avoid them. For example, in cash games - try avoid playing in pot against big stacks. Some players just can't lose. And don't play like a donk ! Read some books or at least internet articles. Learning odds charts is a must !

Few more tips - If you don't have 5-6 hours of free time for poker every day, I would recommend you to play on smaller sites rather then Full Tilt or Poker Stars. It easier to become respectable player there where is lack of competition. When you beat them, you can switch to PS and FT. I personally play low stakes at Merge Gaming Network. It's clearly juiced, but after some time I adapted to that, and I will play there as long I continue winning every month. That's most important .. Good luck !

Accounts raked yes or no there it a simple test. Play two hands at the same time if you are getting bad beats on both tables simultaneous this is suspicious. Winning on both tables at the same time is highly unlikely. I did this test 4 times 200 hand in each test. 3 of the tests I would get bad beat after bad beat then suddenly I got good beats on both tables. Has anyone else done this test? There is a lot of mathematical test you can do if you play 60 to 70 hands per hour AA should appear 3 times on the table etc. the secret to wining at online poker is to play according to the seat wether it is a winning or losing seat. winning seats you can play almost any hand if you are on the loosing seat be prepared to fold all starting hands if there is any raise and I mean fold all QQ JJ 1010 AK AQ AJ all these are stooge hands and the biggest stooge of all KK an A will hit the flop every time even if it has only got 20% chance of being there. The wining seat moves around the table but not to every player target players who you think are on loosing seats stay away from big stack and whoever has the wining seat. I know hundreds of poker players all feel bitter towards online poker not because they lost money but because they feel cheated by the soft wear. I am the only poker player I know who takes more money off poker sites than I put on.

i was a losing player for a long time. i am now a winning player.

this had nothing to do with the online software.

if you think there are such things as losing seats, winning seats, accounts marked for winning or losing then maybe you should spend all that conspiracy theory time learning more about the game. read books, study your hand history, watch pros play (easy to do online), learn, learn, and learn some more. you will wake up.

What matters most is how well you walk through the fire.

I have found a site called Pokertime.com.I cannot remember where I found it but thought it was thru Pokernews.Anyway I went and downloaded the software and recieved an email giving me $10 to start with just for downloading the software. They offer 8 freerolls daily, hold em,omaha, stud and draw from $200 to $500 cash. One entry requirement for these freerolls, one raked hand per 24 hours at cash tables.Raked hand for them is a hand you win not just participate in.260 cash each tournament no matter how many enter. Most tourneys are 600 to 800 entries, but hold em at 1 P.M. eastern time daily is usually 7000 to 8000.Raked hands do take a little time to catch up to you when you first start,up to 24 hours. After that they catch up pretty quick.More raked hands at cash tables in 24 hours equals more starting chips in freerolls.Cash tables start at 5 cent 10 cent and go up,in hold em,omaha, omaha hi/lo,5 card stud,7 card stud and 5 card draw.Regular cash tourney cash ratio is approximately 1 in 10.Currently largest tourney is $175,000.Most tourneys are rebuys, but they also offer freeze outs, cash tourneys from $1.10 and sit n go's from 9 cents and up.Withdrawal of funds does take a raked hand requirement, cannot take the cash and run.

I started playing this site in the end of May.Site is a casino type site based in Gibraltar and uses the Micro Gaming Poker Engine.Approximately 3000 to 5000 seated were on site at one time depending on what time of day it was.Now am seeing 10000 to 12000 seated at times.Yes site is small but seems to be growing. On the original $10 gift was able to play for about 6 weeks before I made a deposit.Cards turned cold for a bit but seemed to have worked thru this,is gonna happen.Compared to UB and Pokerstars, sites I formerly and will no longer play at because of certain issues, the decks seem to be pretty consistent and fair.Freerolls start at 1000 chips up to 4000 depending on number of raked hands.Starting with 1000 chips is not a death nell as was able to start with 1000 when I first started playing there and made 3 final tables in first two days. The freerolls do run kind of funny I will admit as you go thru hot and cold streaks during the tourney and early leaders usually are not the winners.A late hot run,and patience usually in later levels of blinds will get you in the top 30 or better.Tourney and cash table donks are usually pretty easy to spot with a little patience and being observant to what is going on,plus the amount of money they come to the cash tables with. There are exceptions of course.Customer support is alright as I have not used it much but what little I have it seems ok.

I really wasn't trying to be funny. After the UIEGA, I had no way to deposit or play on PokerTime. That's all I meant.

And I was thanking you for a good review and post about PokerTime. Since PN.com is global, I'm sure some of our players appreciate it.
