No disrespect meant BTW. Seems like you are doing well to have $1200. I play cheaply just for fun and have never had more than about $400.

In the long run it will, but trying to predict it in the shortrun is like trying to predict the river! (well, in my case, that is easy, it always goes against you!)

Here's an off the wall vent.......

I now know more than I'd ever want to know about septic tanks and septic systems. Biggest thing to know is that it's all got to go somewhere and currently, mine isn't. For $3000+, they can fix that. No problem, I DIDN'T WANT TO GO TO BILOXI FOR A FEW MONTHS ANYWAY!!!!!!

I AM TIRED OF STUPID POLITICIANS IN AMERICA! Obama says today he wants all American's to refinance. Why? Guess who gets lots of money from refinances? Banks get fees...governments get taxes (doc stamps, etc.)! If you really want us to refinance, convince state governments to eliminate fees on mortgage refinancing!

Obama, if you really want to do something, 1. Stop telling the rest of the world how horrible the American people are 2. Stop blaming everyone else for something in the past, look forward 3. Stop spending my money that I have yet to make 4.Learn about what really formed this country! Hard Work and Capitalism! Neither of which you seem ready to promote!

Sorry Dave, I am riled up! Why do people come into my office to get me riled up??

Begin Vent/Rant

Getting your money in good only to be 3-5 outed by a donk call that should have doubled you up and turned around your slump.

Then finaly making a good hand only to find that you're drawing dead to running quads almost from the start.

Repeat this process 3-20 times depending on how much you play and when finished steam until you blow a vein in your temple and bleed out.

Needless to say my slight up swing online has now u-turned back into a full downward spiral. Thank fully i reconised tilt before my whole bankroll disappeared. I LOVE POKER, i just need to get through this patch.

End Rant/Vent

I wish my poker donations were tax deductable {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

Last night was the lowest night I've had since I began playing.

I was staked for the 5K Guaranteed and I was playing so well. I didn't make mistakes. I was patient and I was getting there. My energy was fantastic and I knew no other player wanted it as much as I wanted it.

90 players away from the bubble and I get dave's (and I say this with sympathy) KK so I raise pre-flop and get a call from goober sitting two seats away. I don't remember the flop exactly but there was nothing above a K ... not even close. So I push all in. Goober calls. Goober wins with trip 6's.

When you're new at this site, as you know, you feel the pressure to prove that you are a valid enough player so others will choose to place a stake in your game. Last night was my third event and I hadn't placed in the money yet and I cried like a baby. Even made homemade fudge for extra comforting. But more than that, I lost faith in myself. It was the first time I really began to think I was kidding myself.

I was pretty low yet I still had this event I had set up for today and, amazingly enough, folks were buying stakes (and I sure wasn't asking...I was going to cancel it). I was beginning to believe I really wasn't a decent player after all and should find something else to occupy my time and mind.

Long story short, I went into the Sunday 1/4 Million facing over 28000 people with the attitude of 'kill me now and put me out of my misery'.

However, I began to gain chips. I was shocked. I gained some more. I started shaking.

I finished in the money! OK, it wasn't the greatest win ever but I won $19 and was able to finally pay my wonderful stakers, which gave me mucho pleasure.

It's amazing how it can all turn around when you least expect it. And all that crap about you have to put out good energy and believe in yourself is a load of bs because I had zero belief in myself going into the tournament and expected to be ousted at any given moment.

On top of that, one of the players I staked paid off, too, so it was like a double-bonus.

Goes to show, you never can tell.

Chips and Cheers,

FlippaFlop (Q-Hearts)

Gold strike poker is a subscription poker site that charges $19.95 a month, I think. Because of that they have have to have a no purchase necsessary clause to be legal under the sweepstakes law. Spade club and club WPT have the same set-up. Send a 3x5 card and you get a free month to play for real money. Gold strike had the same rules, so I sent a card in. About a week later, after I'm sure they had gotten my card, they sent me an e-mail and had changed the rules to mailing a card in to play one single tournament. To pick one tourn. not less than 10 days, and no more than 20 days, with ony one card per 20 day peroid. Unreal. I downloaded their site about a month ago and check every couple of days, and have never seen more than 18 players there. Also, when they sent me the e-mail there was 4 inter office e-mails, that I'm sure wasn't for my eyes, on how they should skirt around the law. Sounds like a place where your money may go away. I'm just sayin....
