On the front page, there's a blue box at the top for Freerolls. At the bottom of this box is a link for General freerolls, which is what you are looking for. You can also access this list from the link to the big freerolls. It's at the top of that page.

What are the qualifications to the poker news freerolls on all the supporting poker sites. I'm not here for just the freerolls but I wouldn't mind playing in a few. I'n new to the site but there seems to be a lot of info avaiable here.

I will check back here after a while, but i checked the tourney page, and cant find any info on the absolute $5000 australian freeroll. (2 days 19 hrs away) I will continue to look, but any info would be appreciated. I recently signed up for pokernews, and have been playing poker for a long while so most the sites im a member of, i did not sign up through pokernews. I was just wanting to find out about this tourney. I have not seen anywhere on this site that promotes anything about absolute poker. If there are rquirements known for this tourney or where I can find info on this tourney would be great.

Yea thats what i thought, but if you check the freeroll lobby on their game site, they have a $5000 australian poker cup tourney freeroll, noone has registered for it, and i guess noone will, but what i dont get is why they would even say they are going to have one of these if they are not going to.

The term freeroll is also used to describe a tournament with no entry fee but the use of the terms 'free' and 'no entry fee' can be misleading because some freerolls require a payment at some point to gain entry to the tournament.

The prize pool, instead of being an accumulation of the entry fees minus a fee for the 'house' (the way pay-to-play tournaments are typically constructed), is derived from a donation from the house, sponsorship fees, admission charged to spectators, broadcast rights fees, or any combination of these. Sometimes a particular cardroom or casino (either traditional or online) will offer a freeroll tournament to frequent players. Invitation-only tournaments are frequently freerolls.

Freerolls at Internet poker sites should not be confused with their close counterpart — play money tournaments. Freerolls are different from play-money tournaments in two respects. Play money tournaments usually require the 'payment' of play money and the tournament winnings are play money. Freeroll tournaments can be genuinly free, may require a payment of points (from a point system developed by the site), or on some occasions require a deposit of funds into the player's account. The winnings are either real money, points, merchandise or entry tickets (invitations) to other tournaments.

There's a $2500 freeroll at Walker Poker for those who downloaded this poker client from pokernews' link. Well, I downloaded and installed it, I made an account and my first impressions of the room were good. I found the tourney's lobby, but I didn't got the ticket so I couldn't register yesterday. I thought "they'll sent the tickets later"...

Well, now not only I don't have the ticket, but the tourney lobby is gone, they removed it! Can somebody tell me what's going on?

The tourney description says that tickets will be sent after the 12th. Since today is the 12th, no problem......yet. Hopefully everything will go smoothly.

I was getting nervous about these tickets, so I wrote a letter to their support. Here's the letter and here's the answer:

Hello!

I'd like to ask, will the registration be manual, and if yes, when the tickets will be issued, or you will automatically sign up all the players, who fulfill the requirements?

Best regards!

Svetlin Kolev

And here's what thay said:

Dear Valued Player,

Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately you would have to contact pokernews for more information regarding the tournament.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.

Sincerely,

CS Coleman

Customer Support Representative

If the poker room support can't give me such an elementary answer and they are redirecting me back here, I really doubt the tourney would go smoothly!

Hello guys,

As I see many worries about this tournament on Walker poker. I just want to say that they (Walker Poker) will issue the tickets to players today, lets hope they will not make any mistakes.

Another things is regarding their support - koleff84, I have to say that most of poker rooms support will say you the same thing, when the question will be about their affiliate tournament. (They have affiliate manager, who can help with this, but support team, useless with this matter). So whenever you will be having any problem like this, please email us to our popular email freerolls@pokernews.com and we do our best to get information you need from the poker rooms affiliate managers.

Ok, thank you for explaining, I didn't know that. Anyway, the tickets are already issued, so everything looks normal. Good luck to you all!

Hey koleff84, did they send you an email notification or is the ticket just on the site? The reason that I ask, I haven't received an email BUT, I can't check the site for another 4.5 hours.

I didn't have any e-mail notification. I've just logged in and there was a pop-up that said I've received the ticket.

Hi everyone,

It seems that Carbon Poker have encountered some problems regarding today's $5,000 PokerNews Cup Australia Freeroll and therefore decided to cancel the tournament, unfortunately they haven't informed us about the reasons of such a decision. The tournament will be rescheduled in the next few days and all the players who have met the requirements will be able to participate. We apologize for any inconveniences.
