PokerNews WSOP Freeroll on Bodog Glitch

Tonight, there was the PokerNews WSOP Freeroll on Bodog for 1 $12k seat. About 2 minutes into the tournament, the tournament ended declaring all 50 participants the winner. All 50 players were awarded $12k in T$.

Reality time. There was an obvious glitch in the system. This was not anyone's fault so nobody is to blame. Bodog of course cannot payout $600k in prize money in a freeroll. This is understandable. And in 2 minutes, there was no winner.

So what to do? Reschedule of course. According to Bodog, either Bodog or PokerNews will be contacting all 50 players in the next 48 hours.

Is this fair? Yes. Does it suck? Yes. But can't be avoided.

Sorry folks but that's the reality of the situation.

Good luck in the next tourney. (BTW, I'm one of the 50 players.)

OK, maybe it's somebody's fault but it'd be one of those nameless computer techs. Definitely not PokerNews.

I'd like to think that they would pick up the trny where it was as far as chip stack accumulated or lost in the completed hands. If anyone was eliminated, they stay out. It should also be closed to any new registration, i.e only the players that were already registered and playing would be allowed to esume play. Also, because of the fact that all of us made the commitment and investment in time and schedule in our lives, and will need to do the same to play the rescheduled event, a token $100 might go a long way to ease the pain! I'd also like to hear an explaination as to why THIS trny was knocked offline. All of the scheduled trnys before and after went off as scheduled. Sounds like this was an act of Bodog, not an act of god.

1st....you mean Bodog isn't god?
2nd...I suggested to freerolls@pokernews.com that they bug Bodog into adding a couple of extra seats.
3rd...I TOTALLY agree with not letting any additional players in to the tourney.
4th...You already won $12K Sheepodog. Quit being greedy.

Of 17 entered so far for May 18 Bodog re-scheduled WSOP 5 are new players that were not entered May 11, that's a third meaning 65 will be entered May 18. If anyone cares for list of the 50 entered May 11, I have one available.

50 players were affected in Bodog May 11 WSOP but Bodog chooses to compensate eight with T$109., doesn't seem right.

WHAT INFO IS WRONG?

Bodog email said second through ninth will win T$109. which is 8 players. Now on site it shows second through tenth which is 9 players. Only other players being compensated are ones that were not signed up for May 11 tourney by allowing them second chance. Do you doubt that there will be 65 players or more May 18? Of 45 players now registered at least 10 are new as I do have a list of May 11 fifty players.

40 players that were affected dearly will received no compensation. This was extremely critical and should be treated as such. Some players who Bodog say had early advantage on May11 were compensated as I did received T$10.

If you are calling me out speak in facts, don't be like Bodog.

Now I see that all 50 players received T$10. Email from Bodog also said Early advantage players will be compensated separately.

We reschedule the final WSOP tournament for the same day and time – it will be this Sunday at 7:05pm EST.

We will be issuing $10 in Tournament Credits to the 50 players that registered for last Sunday's tournament as an apology for the error in configuration.

Rasucci posted this on another thread so I copied and reposted here too.

We will be emailing all 128 players who qualified for the final tournament explaining the situation and inviting them to this Sunday's tournament.
As you all see, 50 players will get credit. There are many players that were qualified, so they will be able to register as well.
This was decided by pokernews and Bodog poker. Sorry for the inconvenience and Good Luck to all.

I hope this explains things a little.

extra 78 players qualified for May 11 but should not qualified for May 18 is exactly my complaint. Why explain the situation to them that they were not part of. They did not lose 12K, why invite them? Why are they being compensated?

They are not being compensated. They just can register as they were qualified as you all.
