Duplicate Poker $1,000 Weekly Freeroll Series Issues

I registered a new first time account at Duplicate through Poker News in July and made a deposit and was registered for and played in the freeroll on July 20th. Duplicate Poker made an error and I was not registered for the July 27th freeroll, but I did play the August 3rd freeroll. Now I am being told that to play in these freerolls I must earn 50 Bonus Points or place $50 worth of buy-ins. Why is this? Here are some quotes from the Poker News website about this promotion:

"Qualifying is simple – download Duplicate Poker via PokerNews, obtain a new account and make a minimum deposit. First depositors will receive entry into the next upcoming freeroll."

"Should you not compete in the freeroll, you will not be eligible for any subsequent freerolls. If you find yourself in this position, you now fall into the category of 'Existing Duplicate Poker Account Holders'. Your options for this promotion are as follows:

Existing Duplicate Poker Account holders who originally signed up through PokerNews must earn 50 Bonus Points or place $50 worth of buy-ins within the calendar month prior to the freerolls."

"Should new depositors fail to compete in their eligible freeroll (within that calendar month); they will not be eligible for subsequent freerolls (unless all other entry requirements are fulfilled)."

According to this the only players that need to accumulate 50 points are "Existing Duplicate Poker Account Holders". For a first depositor to become an "Existing Duplicate Poker Account Holder" they must fail to compete in their freeroll. I was a first time depositor in July and I have competed in my eligible freerolls, so why am I now considered an existing account holder? This is contrary to what is written in the requirements. Am I missing something?

I have emailed freerolls@pokernews.com and while they attempted to provide me with an explanation they were unable to do so and I was told to contact Duplicate Poker directly. Duplicate has given no other explanation besides telling me that I have to meet the requirements of an existing player. They give no justification for this and do not even attempt to explain the quotes I have provided. They just say that that is the way it is and they can not change it. I just wanted to ask other players if I was misinterpreting something. I was basically looking for an explanation that no one has been able to give me.

New depositors are eligible for one freeroll – the next Sunday after they deposited.
If they didn't play on this one, then they can't play on the next one.
However, if they keep on playing over 50 points during that month or any month, they will be eligible to get in the freerolls on the following month.

I hope this clears up the confusion...

Ok, I have one last issue. You say "If they didn't play on this one, then they can't play on the next one." This implies if I did play this one then I can play in the next one. Isn't this correct? If not, what does the quote mean? Also, if you have to earn 50 points regardless of if you play or don't play then why is that quote even included? Thank you.

If you have qualified, and have the points from last month, (50) and have not missed playing in one since you became qualified, you will continue to be able to play. but to play in next months freeroll you still need to get 50 points this month to remain qualified.

I understand that new depositors are only eligible for ONE freeroll. I am not debating the true requirements for this promotion. My point is that the true requirements were not communicated effectively on the website, causing me to miss this month's freerolls. Nowhere on the website does it say new depositors are eligible for only one freeroll. Here is what is on the website:

"Players making their first deposit will receive automatic entry to the next scheduled freeroll that will be held in the calendar month of their first deposit. Should new depositors fail to compete in their eligible freeroll (within that calendar month); they will not be eligible for subsequent freerolls (unless all other entry requirements are fulfilled)."

This clearly implies that a new depositor will be given entry into the next freeroll and as long as they continue to compete in them they will continue to be eligible for the following freerolls. Again, I understand these are not the rules of the promotion, but this is what the website implies. Should this quote be interpreted in another way? The second sentence is especially misleading, if all new depositors are only eligible for one freeroll then what does it matter if they compete or not? Please answer both of my questions and address the quote because my main issue is how the information was communicated on the website, and not the true requirements, which I understand. How are players to know the true requirements if they are not written clearly?
