Who all has been to and played in one or more of the events at the WSOP or any other major event, WPT, World Poker Championship...ect?
Was it a good experience, I mean were the players good solid players or were there alot of loose maniacs that didnt mind throwing away several thousand dollars just for the experience.
I know that I can probably never play the main event unless I win a seat in an online tourny or at one of the B&M casinos in Lake Charles, LA. which are about 2hours east of me. But maybe one day I'll be able to convince my wife to let me play one of the $1000.00 or $1500.00 events.

I played the Main Event in 2006 and try to play some of the early events in the WSOP circuit and WPT in Mississippi each year. You get a good mix of players.
Try to get her to let you in one of the preliminary events at the WSOP Circuit New Orleans.
I think it's a great experience.

Just another KITNs. You'll get used to them.

What kind of buy-in would I be looking at? She's gonna want to know.

They usually have some $340 during the week and $550 on the weekend the first week. They're in Tunica MS in January and New Orleans in May. Also the WPT will be in Biloxi MS.

Which casino in Biloxi? I was in Biloxi/Gulfport in March of '07 was still pretty tore up from Katrina. But, I won a $2400 jackpot,at the Isle of Capri, on a dollar slot on my way out. Had a $10 bill loose in my pocket and the wife went to the ladies room so I stuck the 10 in a machine and hit the 3rd spin for $2400.
