Seems to me, I read somewhere just a couple of years ago, that in order to be competitive online, you needed to change your screen name regularly. Since most sites don't allow you to change your screen name, the only way to do this is a different account.

I understand the seriousness of trying to play multiple accounts in a tournament of even a cash game to gain an edge, but seems to me a person should have the right to have multiple accounts at a site as long as they only play one at a time.

It would not surprise me to find that a lot of players have a spouse with an account at the same site as they and often times play that account. How many of you have a spouse that plays your account from time to time. If you play on PS it's against their rules.

Just my 2 chips worth.

having two accounts is against the rules and he should be punished for it. you are right 25grand is a joke to brian but it will serve its purpose. he is more likely to learn from the emebarassment than anything else.

however, i often rail the pros on multiple sites and have to say that i can see where he is coming from. i go and watch but there are always 15 or 20 people asking them question after question. bugging them about playing them heads up or dropping down levels to play them. there are also the abusers out there that have nothing better to do than try and make fun of them. i would find it extremely annoying and for someone who is trying to rebuild or fix there game it has to be exp. difficult. did he make a mistake? yes, but dont we all?

i mean we just watched a final table where Scotty played soft against Lindgren. It had little affect on the outcome but THIS is actually cheating both by the rules and ethically. if brian didn't use his other accounts to cheat than yes its against the rules but its not like he caused any damage to anyone but himself (after being caught.)

What matters most is how well you walk through the fire.
