WCOOP 8-Game Tournament

I was watching this last night (should have been playing in it) and I noticed that most of the pros went out before the money. I don't think that the competition was that tough. I think that 2 things were the controlling factors:
1. PokerStars expects some of their pros to play in each WCOOP event whether or not they have an interest in the game.
2. 8-Game takes too long for most pros to see a value in playing. After 6 hours of play, they still hadn't reached the bubble.

Any thoughts?

yeah you would expect playing 8 game that the pros would come out on top, if the buy in would have been say 5k perhaps a different outcome

what was the first prize?

What matters most is how well you walk through the fire.
